Observing the commandments and becoming doers of the Word

““If you [apostles] continue to love me, you will continue to observe my commandments.” (Joh 14:15 MHM)

“The person having my commandments and continuing to observe them, that person is the one who continues to love me. Also, the person who continues to love me will be loved by my Father, and I shall love him, and I shall make myself visible to him.”” (Joh 14:21 MHM)

“Jesus answered and said to him: “If anyone continues to love me, he will observe my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come toward him and we will make an abode alongside him.” (Joh 14:23 MHM)

“You remain in my love if you continue to observe my commandments, even as I have observed my Father’s commandments and continue to remain in Him.”” (Joh 15:10 MHM)

“For this is the love of The God, that we observe His commandments, and his commandments are not a burden,” (1Jo 5:3 MHM)

“Now this is how such compassionate affection is manifest: so that we may continue to walk in [God’s] commandments, just as you originally heard, that you continue walking in [that same compassionate affection].” (2Jo 1:6 MHM)

“I am giving to you [disciples] a new commandment, so that you may love one another just as I loved all of you, so you may love one another.” (Joh 13:34 MHM)

“You remain in my love if you continue to observe my commandments, even as I have observed my Father’s commandments and continue to remain in Him.”” (Joh 15:10 MHM)

“Now, be doers of the Word and not just hearers, deceiving yourselves.” (Jas 1:22 MHM)

Walking in love by faith, not by sight

“whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing, you exult with unspeakable and having been glorified,” (1Pe 1:8 LIT)

“(for we walk by faith, not by sight),” (2Co 5:7 LIT)

“We love Him because He first loved us.” (1Jo 4:19 LIT)

“And we have known and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God in him.” (1Jo 4:16 LIT)

“in whom also you, hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also believing you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,” (Eph 1:13 LIT)

“to whom God willed to make known what [are] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;” (Col 1:27 LIT)

“If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the [one] not loving his brother whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?” (1Jo 4:20 LIT)

“Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, you have believed. Blessed [are] the ones not seeing and believing.” (Joh 20:29 LIT)

“Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish [from] the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge!” (Ps 2:12 LIT)

Love is like playing the piano

"Love is like playing the piano.
First you must learn to play by the rules,
then you must forget the rules and play from your heart."
- Unknown

"Those who love in the Lord never see
each other for the last time."
- German Proverb

"Love is an act of endless forgiveness,
a tender look which becomes a habit."
- Peter Ustinov

"Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness,
but rejoices with the truth."
1 Corinthians 13:6

"Love does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own,
is not provoked,
does not take into account a wrong suffered."
1 Corinthians 13:5

"Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things."
1 Corinthians 13:7

Dear God let love grow in my heart
and let me be able to share my love with others
in tenderness and patience.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Thoughts
Phil Ware    An unloving person -- a person who does not show love through his or her actions -- doesn't know God. It's that simple. Enough said.

Prayer
Father, please bless me with a loving heart and a lifestyle that generously shares your love with others. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
