Concerning prayer and thought for the day

In our life we encounter enough worries and lots of difficulties of which we wonder how we can cope with them. In life, we are often so busy with ourself that we do not make much time to think about our own Maker.

Lots of people who believe in God think about Him as a boo man or think He is to Grand or Special so that they as just an ordinary small being cannot come unto Him. But they are mistaken. Just by daring to come close to Him we show our will to be under Him and to be a child of Him.

God doesn't call the qualified but He is more interested to touch first those who are humble or who have lots of worries and questions. He is eager to come closer to those who do not yet know Him but who are willing to get to know Him.

Sometimes we pray and pray and it seems like nothing happens. but then we should ask: Why?
There might be a good reason that what we asked not to be answered like we wanted it to be answered. We should always wonder if that what we ask is in line with God His Wishes or with His Plan.
Look at all those who are at war, and both camps praying for them to win the war. But first of all war is something God does not want. He does not want people to fight against each other. So any plea for help in that fight would be useless.

When rightly placed and done with the right attitude "Prayer has the power to change mountains into highways."

We have to make time for having just some time between us and God plus for contemplation and meditation. Creating some moment we can talk to our Divine Most High God.
Each day we should take some time to think about life and about the Sustainer of life. Every day we should take time to meditate on God's Word.

The Christadelphians provide some help to go through the Bible day by day in a year. They also provide next to the Bible Reading Plan or chart. That Bible Companion is just a practical aid, encouraging people to continue their Bible reading in a way that they do not skip the same chapters, but go from one book to the other, chapter after chapter, each year.

May we advise you to come to read those Thoughts for the day and to find some further articles on Bible study and reading, Praying and prayers?

Real love releases hidden possibilities

Real love releases hidden possibilities.

...God is love.
He reveals deep and secret things, He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.'
1 John 4:8 - Daniel 2:22t

Dear God give me the opportunity to share the agapè love with others around me and let me show them the Way to You

Lenten Season and our minds and hearts the spiritual temple in which God seeks to live

English: Meditation
Meditation (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
For many the Lenten Season has come for them to bring them thinking about life but also about death and about God. Let us hope there are enough people who want those 40 days serious to think about the essence of their being and about the essence of God. God wants to be found and people should look after him.

People should come to fully grasp the reality that our minds and hearts are the spiritual temple in which God seeks to live.
We must ask ourselves, what are the things we meditate upon?
Do we make ample time each day for this meditation?
It is vital that we are positive in reacting to this challenge – how utterly wonderful to have God in our very being, watching over us!

We therefore should see how important it is that we read God’s word every day.

Using the gifts differing according to the grace

God's ideas always aim to reveal undetected, underdeveloped potential.

'Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.' Romans 12:6

Dear God, I ask you to constantly feed me
with your wisdom
and give me an insight into your wonderful works.
I thank you for your grace
and ask that it may help me to come to help others,
to let them know You and your son better

A heart in the right place and brightly burning faith

Keep your heart right and your faith will burn bright.

'For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.'
Matthew 6:21

Dear God, give me guidance with Your infallible Word
and let my heart be directed by It in the right direction

giving me a faith which can be bright as a light in the darkness
calling others to come to You.

No curtain placed over tomorrow

Don't throw a curtain across tomorrow... the star of its performance just may be you !

'I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... my frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret...Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me when as yet there were none of them.' Psalm 139:14-16

Hidden potential for helping others

'...therefore I command you, saying, 'You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.' Deuteronomy 15:11

Problems are simply human needs holding wonderfully hidden potential.

Dear God, I encounter so many problems in my life, let them be no enduring thorns in my heart and soul, but let them strengthen me, and give me the power to continue in this life.
Let my experiences be of help to others. Give that I always shall be standing ready to help others.

Only one person who has the power to cast the deciding vote that will kill your dream

There exists only one person who has the power to cast the deciding vote that will kill your dream...YOU!

'Moses spoke to the children of Israel...'Look the Lord you God has set the land before you, go up and possess it... Yet, for all that, you did not believe the Lord your God... And the Lord ...took an oath, saying, surely not one of these men...shall see that good land of which I swore to give...' Deuteronomy 1:3,21,32,34-35

Have faith in your faith...doubt your doubts

“For thus said the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. And ye would not:” (Isaiah 30:15 ASV)

“But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.” (James 1:6 ASV)

Have faith in your faith...doubt your doubts.

Confidence "Develop it!" Learn and live out! "Hold it!"
... In quietness and confidence shall be your strength ...

Ask in faith with no doubting

Healthy life can be found in sacred books

Life is dependent on the air around us, and the quality of life is dependent on the quality of air. In an atmosphere of Torah and mitzvot there is healthy life. The first general step in healing is to purify the atmosphere, and is effected through the letters of Torah. When speaking words of Torah while in the store or walking in the street or riding the subway, one purifies the air...

Quit griping about your church

"Quit griping about your church;
if it was perfect, you couldn't belong …"
- Unknown

The modern church rejects the outcasts of society
where as these very outcasts were the very ones who were drawn to Jesus.
- Philip Yancey

"For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect;
but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away."
1 Corinthians 13:9-10

"God let it grow. It is not for those who plant and watered it, but only God who gives the increase. The planter and the one watering are working for the same end and or on an equal footing, each will receive pay for their own work and effort. They will have their separate rewards in the measure of their work. For we are God's co-workers, you are God's field or cultivated farm, God's building.
According to the grace given me by God, I have, as a wise master builder, laid the foundation on which another builds. But let everyone watch as or consider how he builds on that foundation. Because no one can lay a foundation other than what already is laid, namely Yeshua, Jesus Christ, the Messiah. "
1 Corinthians 3:6-11

“Join him, the Living Stone
rejected by men but chosen and precious in the sight of God. "
1 Peter 2:4

Help me, Lord, to remember that religion is not to be confined to the church...
nor exercised only in prayer and meditation,
but that every where I am in Thy Presence.
- Susanna Wesley

Be like a tree planted by streams of water

He [the one who delights in and meditates upon the Law of the Lord] is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Dutch version / Nederlands > Wees als een boom geplant aan stromend water

Thoughts
Phil Ware    Some kinds of earthly delight can feed our hearts for a short time. However, when difficulties come, our hearts will wither in the drought of their false nourishment. On the other hand, delighting in the LORD and in his will for us provides us with ongoing and ever-fresh joy. Out of this God-seeking lifestyle come both short-term and long-term benefits as well as a resiliency that withstands life's worst droughts.

Prayer
Dear God, the Holy One of heaven, I do find my delight in you and your ways. I find my refreshment in your abiding Spirit. Please give me the wisdom to seek your will every day of my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Singing gift from God

Psalm 104:33-34 I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.

Dutch version / Nederlands > Zingen geschenk van God

Thoughts
Do you sing in the shower? What words are on your lips? Singing is such a wonderful gift! First, it is a gift from God to us, to help us express our joy, excitement, sorrow, and victory. Second, it is a gift from us to God, to help us communicate our respect, appreciation, love, and confidence in God. So let's sing, praising God for what he has done, proclaiming what he will do, and sharing what he is currently doing in our lives!

Prayer
O God, Father in heaven, even your name is holy. Please exert your will over my heart, and the hearts of those in our world, so they more closely reflect your holy character. I trust you, dear LORD, for the food I need each day. I ask you, Holy Father, to forgive me as I release my bitterness and anger which I have held against those who have wounded me -- I will need your help to do this. Empower me, O God, to resist the temptations and deceptions of the Evil. Please make my life a glorious witness to your grace. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
