The sent one from God

Lots of Christians still do not believe Jesus is the sent one from God and take it that it was God Himself Who came down to earth to fake his temptation and His death, because God cannot be tempted nor die.

They better look at some verses written in the Holy Scriptures which tells us that Jesus is the sent one from God.

 “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (Joh 3:16 ASV)

 “ {1 } The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, {2 } Because he anointed me to preach {3 } good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, {1) Isa 61:1 f 2) Or Wherefore 3) Or the gospel } (Lu 4:18 ASV)

 “ But he said unto them, I must preach {1 } the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also: for therefore was I sent. {1) Or the gospel } (Lu 4:43 ASV)

 “ For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for he giveth not the Spirit by measure.” (Joh 3:34 ASV)

 “ Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.” (Joh 4:34 ASV)

 “23  that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him. 24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.” (Joh 5:23-24 ASV)

 “ I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” (Joh 5:30 ASV)

 “36  But the witness which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to accomplish, the very works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37  And the Father that sent me, he hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. 38  And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he sent, him ye believe not.” (Joh 5:36-38 ASV)

 “ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom {1 } he hath sent. {1) Or he sent } (Joh 6:29 ASV)

 “38  For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39  And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.” (Joh 6:38-39 ASV)

 “ No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.” (Joh 6:44 ASV)

 “ As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me.” (Joh 6:57 ASV)

 “ Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.” (Joh 7:16 ASV)

 “ Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.” (Joh 8:42 ASV)

 “ say ye of him, whom the Father {1 } sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? {1) Or consecrated } (Joh 10:36 ASV)

 “ And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the multitude that standeth around I said it, that they may believe that thou didst send me.” (Joh 11:42 ASV)

 “ For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” (Joh 12:49 ASV)

 “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.” (Joh 13:20 ASV)

 “ He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.” (Joh 14:24 ASV)

 “ But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.” (Joh 15:21 ASV)

 “ But now I go unto him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?” (Joh 16:5 ASV)

 “ And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.” (Joh 17:3 ASV)

 “ for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.” (Joh 17:8 ASV)

 “23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me. 24 ¶  Father, {1 } I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. {1) Gr that which thou hast given me, I desire that where I am, they also may be with me, that etc }25  O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;” (Joh 17:23-25 ASV)

Believe and speak and act in ways which show we have life in Christ's name

When Jesus said,
 “Because I live, you also will live” (John 14:19)
 it is evident that he was not talking of normal human life. His resurrection will reveal that it will turn their hearts from utter despair – to absolute wonderment! Jesus is saying to all who listen to him through reading his word,
 “Because I live, you also will live”.

“Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
Let us  “believe” and speak: and act in ways which show this – every day.

Through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe

More than that,
I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
and may be found in Him,
not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law,
but that which is through faith in Christ,
the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith…
(Philippians 3:8-9 NAS)

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,
so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
(2 Corinthians 5:21 NAS)

But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested,
being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe;
for there is no distinction;
(Romans 3:21-22)

A rebellious movement founded on a fake?

English: Icon of Jesus Christ

There is no doubt that all mainline denominations, but particularly those that embrace a so-called liberal orthodoxy, are in decline.

There are many people who want others to believe that Jesus Christ did not exist and that Christianity is build upon a fake.

It might be strange that those people who wants us to believe jesus from Nazareth (Jeshua from the tribe of David) did not exist are running high with other historical figrures where less writings and information can be found  than the one they scorn.

Many also consider early Christianity as a rebellious underground movement until Roman Emperor Constantine made it his religious practice in A.D. 312. We do agree that Constantine's conversion, based on what he viewed as a victorious sign from God prior to going into battle, and his demand to the preachers of Christ that they would agree with the empire its system of worshipping, made that the movement became more attractive because lots of attitudes could be continued and worship became no different than they knew already from the Roman and Greek worshipping, having now a three-une god to their liberty.

Having Christendom made in an official religion of Rome in A.D. 380 did more for the spread of Christianity than any proselytizing efforts conducted by the Apostle Paul. Though the religion that was subservient to the Roman Empire, beard little resemblance to the radical teachings of Jesus.

The first-century Gospels did not want to give a correct historical day to day overview, but presented those teachings of the man the writers considered to be the Messiah.
 The gospels indicate that Jesus was a historical figure.
Myths and even legends normally involved characters placed centuries in the distant past. People wrote novels, but not novels claiming that a fictitious character actually lived a generation or two before they wrote. Ancient readers would most likely approach the Gospels as biographies, as a majority of scholars today suggest. Biographies of recent figures were not only about real figures, but they typically preserved much information. One can demonstrate this preservation by simply comparing the works of biographers and historians about then-recent figures, say Tacitus and Suetonius writing about Otho.

Contrary to some circles on the Internet, very few scholars doubt that Jesus existed, preached and led a movement. Scholars' confidence has nothing to do with theology but much to do with historiographic common sense. What movement would make up a recent leader, executed by a Roman governor for treason, and then declare, "We're his followers"? If they wanted to commit suicide, there were simpler ways to do it.
One popular objection is that only Christians wrote anything about Jesus. This objection is neither entirely true nor does it reckon with the nature of ancient sources. It usually comes from people who have not worked much with ancient history. Only a small proportion of information from antiquity survives, yet it is often sufficient.

Believing what Jesus says

How many people are really willing to believe what Jesus says. In Christendom we do find many Christians who prefer to keep to the traditional doctrines of the doctrinal churches, instead of willing to take the words of the Bible like they are written there.

The barrier to fully accepting Jesus’ words is the cost involved in following him and his teachings. To follow his teachings, and the teaching of the Bible at large, requires a different type of focus. That is, one not focussed upon material or present benefits, but rather upon following the truths of God no matter what the present cost, because something far greater has been purposed and promised by God.
You as a Christian or as a unbeliever, what do you want to come to believe? Where do you want to put your focus?

What does it mean to you when Jesus says God is greater than him? What does it mean when he says we do have to pray to God his Father and do not may worship him, but should give all honour to the Only One Divine God, Creator of heaven and earth?

Jesus concentrated himself on the words and works of his heavenly Father and asked others not to focus on his (Jesus) works, because he (Jesus) could do nothing without his Father. Jesus his focus was on his heavenly Father who had appeared above him and had spoken "This is my beloved son." How many Christians are willing to accept those words of God Who spoke about His only begotten son?

Do you want to focus on the doctrines of the many churches, or are you willing to focus on the Word of God as it is presented to the world in the Bible?

God's Special Gift

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
through the forbearance of God;
To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness:
that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” (Ro 3:23-26 AV)

“For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.” (Ro 7:14 AV)

BIBLE STUDY
Title: God's Special Gift

Topic(s): Salvation, God's Love
Scripture: Romans 3:23-26

What do you associate with Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries and lots of other special occasions? If you said "gifts," 99 percent of the rest of our society would probably agree with you. Gifts are one of the ways most of us show we care about someone.

But no one has ever given a gift that is as special as the one God gave. This gift came through His Son, Jesus Christ. Let's take a closer look at what God's Word says about this gift.

What Does God Say?

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:23-26).

* Who needs God's gift?
* What does this gift prove about God?
* How would you explain to someone the way to receive this gift?

My Thoughts

God's gift is free, but it's not cheap. It cost the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. It was Christ's blood that redeemed us. The word redeemed means "to buy back." It's used to describe paying a ransom for someone's release. Sin had held us captive. It held us under its control (Romans 7:14). But Jesus paid the ransom price and set us free.

This allowed God to be both "just and the justifier." For God to have ignored our sins would make Him unjust. He would be violating His own laws. But Jesus became a propitiation through His blood. The word propitiation means "to satisfy." To maintain God's justice, the Law had to be met. Jesus satisfied that Law through His death.

My Part

Take a piece of paper and divide it in half. On one half, label it "Mankind" and list all the ways people try to pay for their sins. On the other half, list The way God has paid for our sins. Which way have you chosen?
