Trust the future to God

“Let the future not agitate you. You will meet it,
and if you must with the same weapons of reasoning
with which you arm yourself today against the present.”
 - Marcus Aurelius

"The future is something, which everyone reaches
at the rate of sixty minutes an hour,
whatever he does, whoever he is."
- C. S. Lewis

“Be never frightened to trust an unknown future to a well-known god."
 - Corrie ten Boom

"Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders,
making the most of the time."
Colossians 4:5

“Continue buying out for yourselves the appointed time, because these days are wicked.”
Ephesians 5:16

God, make me competently for this time to endure and full good courage to look out to the Day of the Lord.

Not enlightened by God's Spirit

If God's Spirit has not enlightened our reasoning, we are inclined to make the wrong choices. Our choices seem right at the time, but later we discover these choices have led us away from God because they were based on our own reasoning.
