Kingdom of God, a journey

You may wonder what the Kingdom of God might be and willing to see a kingdom of the earth. But come to understand that the Kingdom of God is already here for you and everybody. God has placed its path in front of every human being.

We are all on the road to some destination. Either we want to get somewhere or we do not have any aspirations to get somewhere. But most of us have dreams and really would like to get somewhere. But are our aims trying to get to the right place, having the right things?

On our path to somewhere in the future are we willing to see that there is that outstretched hand of the Elohim, the Most High God? How many of us our willing to feel that God is present out here … working.  He is everywhere.

The Kingdom of God is like a teacher and a pastor who became a truck driver …

God now has him on the road, searching for the lost.
He said;
Truck driving is like life in a microcosm, you see people at their best, you see them at their worst.”
He found that God is alive and well outside the walls of the church.  He had to adopt the attitude that the joy is the journey, not the destination.

“It’s not about where you are or what you are doing, the Kingdom of God is about getting in touch with God right here and now … 24-7.” Please find an introduction to Frank's life as a truck driver and his thoughts on the kingdom of God.

Died climbing

Alan Hermann
Alan Hermann wrote:
3 augustus 6:59
I read recently of the epitaph of a Swiss mountain climbing guide. All it said was ‘died climbing’. After considering this I realised that this is a perfect epitaph for every Christian.

The Christian life is well described as a race, a journey or a climb. The good news is that we have a guide and support on the climb who has descended from the highest peak to take our hand and help and encourage us. We never climb alone. It doesn’t matter if we are near the top or still making our way through the foothills. The important thing is that we are still moving upward, still climbing.

It has been said that the Christian life is ‘three steps forward and two steps backward’ and I believe that there is some truth in this but again it is not how fast we are ascending but the fact that we are still climbing. We must put aside doubts about our distance from the peak or rate of progress and ask His continual help to climb on. It is his strength, not ours, that makes the difference. In the worst bits he carries us.

The greatest praise we can receive while alive is, ‘still climbing’. May our epitaphs read, ‘died climbing’.

Hello America and atheists

In response to the article

ATHEISTS EXPOSED! shared by Greg Liebig Sr.

I wrote a reply which I also would like to share with you here.

In the article the author does like he is God writing to the people of the United states of America.

“First, let it be known, that I created each and every person on this planet; also, That I Love Each And Every One Of Them. Furthermore, let it be known unto them, that I have a purpose for them now, during the millennial reign of my Son Jesus (Yeshua) and Then Throught All Eternity!
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - NARA - 515673
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - NARA - 515673 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
“My precious humans are eternal spiritual beings: yes, for the time being they are in flesh, blood and bone bodies, at death, that changes. When I send Yeshua to rapture up the church they will be changed as well. I am having you tell humanity this because it won’t be long before I tell My Son to get His Bride, the Church, the believers.”
Strange that this God calls those human beings eternal spirits, when He has created them as mortal elements in the universe.

Then that god speaks about the Satans or adversaries of God and the ones who fool the world, with their own false teachings.
As he (the Satan or devil) sees the approaching of Christ’s appearing, he and a few of his partners (doubt and fear) have really been stepping it up.”
One of his lies is,” God (Yahweh) does not exist.”
Another is, “Jesus (Yeshua) did not really die and rise again.”
“So, consequently he has turned a great number of people against me. He really does hate my precious humans.”
“Another one of his tactics is he has chosen very weak minded individuals to enlist in his destructive task and they have fallen for his lies, hook, line and sinker.
He tells them to go to various places and spread these lies. He even pushes his agenda onto governments. He even tells people that it is not right to have people display Godly things in government institutions; like the Ten Commandments for instance.
He has them say it is offensive to pray in public places.”
The author calls all those who do not want to believe and those who agreed to let such things happen "atheists, non-believers, heathen or just plain lost".  But he reminds the people they have to remember that God, no matter what happens, still loves these people: "don’t ever loose sight of that fact."

And that is very important: god loves His creation and all what we can see around us is part of that creation. All people on this planet earth are also created in the image of God and are loved by the Divine Creator.
He also gives them the necessary time to be able to find Him and to come closer to Him. though many also donot want to recognise the person God provided to save the world, He gave His only begotten son, to offer himself as the most justified ransom and to become the mediator between Him (Jehovah God) and men.

English: It is really a nice building. I took ...

So therefore I also would call like that author to the United States of America and to other nations:

Hello America, are you not the New World, where so many of the Europeans went to because at the continent many denominations limited their people and because many governments brought strong limitations of all sorts of freedom?

Did you America also forgot that many of your ancestors looked for the Truth and looked for God His Word and His Will?

Though many descendants from those pioneers went far away from those Bible Students and Bible researchers, and prefered to follow 'standard churches' or even more 'mega churches'. With times (you or) they became not so interested any more in reading regularly the word of God, available in much more versions now in their own or in their new language. You also wanted to be called Christians but pick and choose which laws to live by and to impose on others living around you.
II (The Presidents of the United States of Ame...
II (The Presidents of the United States of America album) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

They prefered to make new gods, like the many movie stars, football and other sports idols, but also the fashion models and idols form other worlds like the cooking world. In this some did not mind to fit their other god, Jesus. So many americans are not willing to accept hat he was a real Jewish man, of flesh and blood, who could be seen by many, who was tempted more than once and who really was brought to death in a cruel way, but less cruel than many other tortured people.

God is an eternal spirit, who can not be seen by men or they would die. God also can not be tempted. that is all be written in the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God, many do not want to take for the words which are there black on white, but they do prefer to hold fast on tradition and denominational dogma's, like the 'Holy Trinity'.

Yes, America, wants to stay blind and does not want to have its eyes opened by the Biblical truth. Do they ever wounder if it is not because of their blindness, their ignorance that america is turning upside down?

But is it not the disease which is spreading all over the world, where money is the Manon, the new god worshipped by so many?
The Love of money is the root of all evil church in America and every other culture that has turned its back on Christ and his Father, the Only One God.

The Biblical message has been corrupted to such a degree that seminaries are supporting a “priest class” that has elevated itself above the laity. This shift toward relying on a seminary educated expert trained in Christian theology to lead the church is inherently risky and flawed.  The body of Christ and it’s shepherds are to be vigilant with discerning and testing the doctrines being introduced into the churches.  The modern day Protestant denominations have completely capitulated the hard won gains of the Reformation and the American bible Student movement. America and with it other nations are re-instituting the old Catholic paradigm of ignorant congregation and all knowing priest class.  On top of the increase in creating Biblically ignorant congregations, America has hybridized Biblical Christianity with of all things “The American Dream”.

The dream has been shattered.  The New Atheism has made it safer for people to declare their godlessness.

Godlessness and Unbelief is it there to stay?!? Or not?

It can change, but we shall need time and lots of people wanting and daring to come out into the world to assign their love for Christ and to show the world the work this son of god has done, and which blessings we have received by his offering himself for us.

You, like every other humans on the face of this planet, have one overwhelming and stupendously important need … to be forgiven for the sins you have already been condemned for, and released from the death sentence that you have already been sentenced to. No matter what happens in this world, as long as Christ shall not have returned, all people shall share the same 'lot', the same burden of finding death at the end of the road. We all shall die, believers and unbelievers.
But do know, afterwards there shall be something different for believers and non-believers. Than it shall be too late to change direction  God has given each of us and you, time enough to think, to consider, to find out, to look for the right way, for the right path.

Know Who goes with us and don't try to control life

Stop trying to control life.
Let the Spirit lead us through the mystery like children
being led along a path where every turn reveals a new surprise, some pleasant and some not
but our guide is always with us
and He knows what is around the next corner.
We don’t always know where we are going
but we know Who goes with us
and that is all that matters.
Explore the mystery with Him.

Sow and harvests in the garden of your heart

"The heart is our garden,
and along with each action there is an intention that is planted like a seed.
We can use a sharp knife to cut someone,
and if our intention is to do harm, we will be a murderer.
We can perform an almost identical action,
but if we are a surgeon, the intention is to heal and save a life.
The action is the same, yet depending on its purpose or intention,
it can be either a terrible act or a compassionate act."
- Jack Kornfield

"Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
* When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it,
the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.
This is the seed sown along the path.

* The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time.
When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

* The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns
is the man who hears the word,
but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it,
making it unfruitful.

* But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil
is the man who hears the word and understands it.
He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

Matthew 13:18-23

Dear God, let me produce a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

We have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace

"The remarkable thing is, we have a choice every day
regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day."
- Charles Swindoll

There are eventually two types of people:
They that will say against God “Your will shall be done"
and they of which God says at the end time: “Your will shall happen”

All that die, to be for indefinitely dead, shall have chosen for it.
No soul which seriously and constantly desires entertainment, shall ever be missing the end.
They that search, will find. For them who ask and knock, doors shall go open.
For them eternal life lies in the distance.
- Marcus Ampe

"I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find me."
Proverbs 8:17

God, the father, teach me to go on the correct path
and to make the correct choices in my life.

If you want to go far in life

"If you want to go far in life, be …
Tender with the young,
Compassionate with the aged,
Sympathetic with the striving,
Tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday you will have been all of these."
- George Washington Carver

"Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers,
be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling,
but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing."

1 Peter 3:8-9

God give that I can bring up patience for others
and can approach them with kindness.
Let me radiate the love of Christ.

A Living Faith #10: Our manner of Life #2

Our Manner of Life

Having explored in some measure a broad overview of some of the attributes of character that disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ must develop if they are to truly be his disciples, it is time to draw our thoughts towards a conclusion. Jesus in his prayer as recorded in John 17 has this to say:

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3

This sums up the crux of the matter. The whole purpose of life is not to have existence for the sake of living, but rather that the created order of things fulfils the purpose of its creation. The purpose of Yahweh was not that we should have life merely to exist, but that we, as created beings, give Him pleasure by reflecting His Divine Glory. Yahweh has graciously extended His love toward you and me; He has invited us to be part of His great divine family. Because of our response by accepting baptism and becoming ‘in Christ’ we have been adopted into that divine household. Adoption has brought many joys, many privileges, many hopes, but also an immense responsibility.

The wise man wrote:

“Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come... .. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:1, 13-14

Now is the time of opportunity. Now is the time to seek Yahweh. Now is the time to keep His commandments. The commandments govern and guide all aspects of daily life and continuing the line of thought about personalising those commandments some areas to examine could be:

My place in the Body of Christ and my Ecclesia.
         My private and public worship.
My relationships with my brethren and sisters. What is true fellowship?
My relationships within my work and with other people in general.
         My character and behaviour

All things are open to the sight of Him who created us, it is easy to deceive oneself but Yahweh sees all, our every thought and action is known to Him. He knows our frame, He knows our sorrows and joys, our motives are laid bare before Him. Our love may be feeble and faith frail, yet mercy triumphs over judgement (James 2:13).  If we truly love the Lord our God, if we have a living and active faith holding fast to that which so good, then with David we rejoice:

“O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.” Psalm 139:1-4

Surely with such lofty thoughts in mind our hearts are filled with awe and indeed David continues:

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. (v6)

Thus we are brought to realise our own imperfection and limitations. It is not within man to guide his own footsteps, nor within us to foresee the path must we take. Yahweh knows what is best for each of His children; His goal is not our present comfort, but our eternal welfare. All present joys and sorrows are transitory and ephemeral, only having meaning within the context of Yahweh’s plan and purpose with His creation.

How great a love has the Lord our God and Father bestowed upon us that we should be His children (1John 3:1). Is your love for Him such that with David the heartfelt response comes:

“Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:17

Only a living and active faith will look deep inside the inner person and know the honest answer.

Only the contrite self, sick of its pretensions, can find salvation

"Only when all our pretensions to self-sufficiency have been shattered,
only when we have given up all our schemes of achieving security in some larger whole which is but the self writ large, only when we have finally realized that we cannot save ourselves even through our noblest aspirations and most exalted ideals, only when we come forward with not only empty hands but contrite heart and humble spirit, only then is there hope. Only the contrite self, sick of its pretensions, can find salvation."
- Will Herberg (Judaism and Modern Man, 1951)

"Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians. 4:6-7 (RSV)

Lord God teach me to overcome my fears. I realize that the man I can not do anything that ever would destroy me, but my choices can destroy me. So I ask you for giving me guidance on the correct path to eternal life.
I have many questions and many applications and dare to ask it to grant me those in line with your wishes.
I humbly offer myself to you to receive me into your world of peace.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Choices

Dutch version / Nederlandse versie > Keuzes

"You are who you are and what you are because
of what has gone into your mind.
You can change who you are and
what you are by changing what goes into your mind."
- Zig Ziglar

"Make me know Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day."
Psalm 25:4-5

God shape my thinking. Change me where it is necessary
and leave me to be a good Christian as that may be an example to others.
Make sure that I always make the right choices
to accede to your Kingdom, where I look forward to.

Discipleship way of life on the narrow way to everlasting life

"The disciple has entered the narrow way to everlasting life, and he must journey in faith until death closes his eyes in sleep in his Lord, or, should it be so, the Lord himself comes back in the midst of his travelling. The narrow way is well marked with good signposts. The path itself is imprinted with the footsteps of those who also have walked the pilgrim way, including the Lord Jesus Christ, who commanded us to follow him.

The Bible is full of guidance. It tells us about the path, about the snares and pitfalls, about the places of refreshment and about the true companions on the way:

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path ..." (Psalm 119:105)

"The commandment is a lamp; and the law is a light." (Proverbs 6:23)

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

"Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet." (Proverbs 3:23 - 24)

"For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken." (Proverbs 3:26)

"Enter not into the path of the wicked, and walk not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass on." (Proverbs 4:14, R.V.)

"There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 16:25)

"The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter fill the full light of day." (Proverbs 4:18, N.I.V.)

Such counsel is practical and sound. There are things which have be done, and those which must be altogether avoided. Discipleship is a way of life. We must follow the footsteps of the men of Scripture, particularly those of the Lord himself. The Bible is the inspired handbook, the traveller's compass and road map; it provides unfailing, positive and clear advice for everyday living. No man can keep a true course without using the Bible. It is to be read every day."

Man's plans prevailed by God's purpose

Proverbs 19:20-21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

Thoughts
Phil Ware    "What are your plans for today?" If you are like me, you prayerfully try to plan your day. You make appointments with people in the future so you can address their needs, hear their concerns, or discuss issues and projects. But, we need to always live humbly, recognizing that none of our plans will be of value unless those plans come from the Father!

Prayer
Holy God and righteous Father, please bless me as I seek to discern your will in my decisions today. I recognize that each breath that I take is a gift and that each success is because of your grace. Please use me to your glory and help me find your path for my life. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
