Not daring to show a connection

For several sorts of Christians Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-11).

Palm Sunday is the day that they celebrate Jesus in his humble glory riding a donkey into the city of David, as the crowds and children cry out,
“Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” (Matthew 21:9; ESV).
At that time lots of people gathered to shout and to welcome Jesus as their special guest. The Vip of his time got the crowds throwing palm branches on the path before him to celebrate him as their approaching King (Matthew 21:8), who came to bring lasting peace and gracious justice.

Peace and justice still did not come to the world. A few days later many of those welcoming that king could have also been in the crowd shouting to kill that Nazarene man. Glory often is just for a short time. Thankfulness is also not for a long time. We can wonder where all those people were at that moment Jesus was presented to the public as a big criminal. Jesus ad helped so many people. Jesus also had inspired so many and had shown to all around him that he was a man of peace and not of war.

Suddenly not many seemed to remember what he had done. Many also out of fear, even a close disciple as Peter did not dare to let others know that he knew Christ or was for that man.

Also today there are lots of people who not dare the outer world to show they have an interest in that Nazarene teacher or that they believe in the same God as that Jewish man worshipped. Jesus did not worship himself (what he would have done when he is God) but worshipped the God of Israel, Who is a Singular eternal all-knowing Spirit Being.

These coming days are again days that God requests to show faithfulness to Him and His commandments. One of those requirements is to come together and to remember the exodus from Egypt and the other is to remember Jesus commemorating that event and installing a new exodus, namely the exit of the curse of death. In the upper room in Jerusalem Jesus came together with his disciples and installed the New Covenant. He asked to remember that night and that is what we should do. It is also a sign of willingness to be under that New Covenant.

Though we may not mix with a lot of people and are requested to stay home, that should not hinder us to feel united even though it is via an internet connection.

I sincerely hope we shall be able to find many brethren and sisters uniting and sharing their Memorial Meeting with others around the world.

In case we have contact by internet, via Face Time or other means, do not hesitate to mention this coming Wednesday as a special day. Keep witnessing along the virtual way, now we can not do it with direct human contact.

Knowledge of Christ and fear for God

Heart of Jesus
Heart of Jesus (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

We do have to come to know Christ Jesus and his heavenly Father.
In Jesus we should put our faith to be able to come closer to God.
Not so much should we fear ordinary man and therefore keep to the traditional sayings,
But we should dare to really listen to Jesus' teachings and come to follow the Law of God, fearing Him more than man.

"One aspect of wisdom is recognizing your need for My help in all that you do.
When your mind is sluggish, it’s easy to forget about Me and simply dive into your tasks and activities.
But eventually you bump into an obstacle.
Then you face an important choice:
to push ahead full throttle or to stop and ask Me for insight, understanding, and guidance.
The closer to Me you live, the more readily and frequently you will seek My help."
— Jesus Always

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Paris attacks darkning the world

Dena Johnson last weekend watched in horror as terror unfolded in Paris, France. Bombings. Hostages. Shootings. Innocent people targeted. Her heart broke for the people of Paris.

For lives lost. For lives shattered, forever changed.

Her writing for Christianity.com Daily Update shows unnecessary fear.
As I watched the non-stop news coverage, I began to wonder what kind of world my kids will inherit from us. What dangers are lurking behind every corner? Will they be forced to live in seclusion for their own safety? Will they fear for their lives every time they are on the street? Will they be targeted simply because they choose Christ?
It’s almost more than a mama’s heart can handle. Watching the news on a regular basis makes me fearful for my kids. Gone are the days of solid Christian morals, where seeking to follow Christ is the accepted norm.
The people in France were not targeted because they choose Christ. Many were no believers in Christ or in any god and others worshipped Allah as faithful Muslims.

She thinks the world is invaded by terrorists, but they are still in the minority.
She writes
Citizens struck at a soccer game and a concert. Shootings in the middle of a church service. We even had a beheading last year right here in Oklahoma as a woman simply went about doing her job.
How do we deal with the fear? How do we teach our children to live boldly in an increasingly dangerous world? How do we live in light of the terror that surrounds us? How do we shine our lights for Christ when we know that we could easily be targeted for our faith?
All people who have a strong opinion and or a faith they want to hold on strongly, can be a useful target because the opponent knows they can be hurt. Jesus Christ also warned those who wanted to follow him they would be target of mocking, bullying and even worse having the possibility to having to give their life for their faith.

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the dangers and immorality in this world. It’s easy to wonder if God really sees us, understands our plight. It can be confusing to sort through the myriad of emotions, to know where we should stand on certain issues. Do we lean toward compassion or do we choose discernment? Both are present in scriptures. Both are necessary.

Christian, Jew or Muslim should follow their Holy Scriptures and should get to know them properly, knowing we may not kill innocent people and do have to respect every creation of God.

From the beginning of times man riposted. Already very early man went against the commandments of God and let evil come into his heart.

Evil has existed in the human heart since time began. Nothing. Has. Changed.

There’s still incredible evil in this world. And there are still heroes of the faith. While ISIS prowls around looking for lives to devour, God is raising up an army of believers with faith that shines bright. While terror seems to be the constant news of the day, Christians around the world are standing strong in their faith, determined to let their lights shine in the midst of the darkness.

We must trust that God is our salvation, our fortress, watching over and protecting us. We must trust that he sees and knows the truth about this world, about our hearts. We must trust that he has the power to protect us, to rescue us from these very real troubles. We must remain confident that he is able, he is greater than this world.

We must cry out to him for wisdom, discernment, direction. We must seek to know him deeply, intimately. We must strive to follow him, every step, every day. We must wait patiently, expectantly, for him to rescue us. We must cling to every word, every promise, he has made. We must be brave and courageous, knowing that he has overcome the world.

The darker this world gets, the brighter our light shines. Hang on to God, my friends. He is our hope.

The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

The one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music.

Teach me how to live, O LORD. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I’ve never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence. Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.
Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

Psalm 27:1-6, 11-14 (NLT)

The chosen ones to fear or not to fear

Jas 2:5 The Scriptures 1998+  (5)  Listen, my beloved brothers: Has Elohim not chosen the poor of this world, rich in belief and heirs of the reign which He promised to those who love Him?

Isa 29:19 The Scriptures 1998+  (19)  And the meek ones shall increase their joy in יהוה {Jehovah} and the poor among men rejoice in the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl.

**

The apostles did not have it easy, having the Judaic people looking cautious at them and some hating those followers of Christ.
Peter found also that all things were continuing as they were from the beginning of creation, by which he meant 'not well'. Man had taken opposition to God and as adversaries they made their voices stronger by the years.
At the time of the apostles most people also deliberately ignored the records of God's actions in the past, discounting them as fiction. They laughed at those who wanted to believe the scrolls which were read at the synagogues. And about Jesus we can imagine how they laughed at this king who never got his kingdom, though he said he could destroy the temple and raise it up again in three days.

James let those who wondered question if God had not chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith? But who then would be able to become a partaker of that kingdom of which that man who died told so lively?

Psalm 46 tells us we have a very present help in trouble and therefore we shall not have to fear, though the earth do change.
Psa 46:1-2 The Scriptures 1998+  (1)  Elohim is our refuge and strength, A help in distress, soon found.  (2)  Therefore we do not fear, Though the earth reels And mountains topple into the heart of the seas.
Those who live according the words of Jeshua, Jesus Christ the son of God, who clarified many Words of God, must be feeling God coming near to them.

Nations may rage, the kingdoms being moved, but those who are willing to hear the voice of God shall see that Yahweh-tzvaot is with them and that the God of Jacob shall be their refuge.

Even when Jehovah God would have made desolations in the earth, full of  wars to cease unto the end of the earth; it is Him Who breaks the bow, and cuts the weapons in sunder so that all people may come to know Him Who is the Only One God, Father of Christ Jesus.

Hear what God says:
Psa 46:10 The Scriptures 1998+  (10)  Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth!
Put your strength out of Him and His offering, His son, and proclaim the Good News of His Kingdom, looking forward to the return of Christ, when after the Big Battle with the most terrible pains shall come peace and tranquillity.

Mat 5:3-11 The Scriptures 1998+  (3)  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the reign of the heavens.  (4)  “Blessed are those who mourn, because they shall be comforted.  (5)  “Blessed are the meek, because they shall inherit the earth.1 Footnote: 1Ps. 37:9, 11, 22, 29, 34.  (6)  “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,1 because they shall be filled. Footnote: 1Isa. 55:1-2, Mt. 4:4, John 6:48-51.  (7)  “Blessed are the compassionate, because they shall obtain compassion.  (8)  “Blessed are the clean in heart,1 because they shall see Elohim. Footnote: 1Ps. 24:3-4.  (9)  “Blessed are the peacemakers, because they shall be called sons of Elohim.  (10)  “Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness’1 sake, because theirs is the reign of the heavens. Footnote: 11Pet. 3:14.  (11)  “Blessed are you when they reproach and persecute you, and falsely say every wicked word against you, for My sake.

Psa 1:1-2 The Scriptures 1998+  (1)  Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, And shall not stand in the path of sinners, And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers,  (2)  But his delight is in the Torah of יהוה {Jehovah}, And he meditates in His Torah day and night.

Mat 25:34 The Scriptures 1998+  (34)  “Then the Sovereign shall say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the reign prepared for you from the foundation of the world

Jos 1:8 The Scriptures 1998+  (8)  “Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and act wisely.
Jos 1:7 The Scriptures 1998+  (7)  “Only be strong and very courageous, to guard to do according to all the Torah which Mosheh My servant commanded you. Do not turn from it right or left, so that you act wisely wherever you go.

Fearing the right person

"We fear man so much because we fear God so little."
- Unknown

I more fear what is within me than what comes from without.
- Martin Luther

The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith;
and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety.
- George Müller

"In Jehovah’s promise I can jubilate,

In God I will praise his word,
In God I have put my trust;
I shall not be afraid.
What can mere man do to me?
I will not fear what flesh can do to me
Psalm 56:4

“In God (I will praise His word), In Jehovah I will give praise to His word,
In God have I put my trust and hope,
I will not be afraid; What can man do unto me?”
Psalm 56:10-11

I say with faith, You Lord are my helper and my ally.
I have to fear nothing. What can a human do to me?
Give that my faith in You can radiate and give appetite to others to reach You also.

Fear not tomorrow. God is already there

"Fear not tomorrow. God is already there."
- Author Unknown

"Do not worry about tomorrow.
Remember, that is from God and not from us."
- Edward B. Pusey

"Be content with what you have, because God has said,
'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'
So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'"
Hebrews 13:5-6

“Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them:

for Jehovah thy God, he it is that doth go with thee;
he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
And Jehovah, he it is that doth go before thee;
he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee:
fear not, neither be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:6,8
I'm glad to hear that you will not leave me
and will always remain with me, oh Lord.
I continue to hope and trust you.
Support me and make me strong
and let me not be undermined by people.
