Malvern CYC Camp 2016

Malvern CYC Camp 2016 Bookings are now be taken

Saturday 13th August to Saturday 20th August 2016, God Willing

Yet another year has passed us by and the camp leaders are busy making plans, God Willing, for camp this year which is to be held as usual at Dyffryn Ardudwy in West Wales (UK)

The Christadelphians have the exclusive use of a site … with flush toilets and warm showers awaiting you! It is aimed specifically at those aged 11-18 years old that regularly attend Sunday School or CYC.

Their study theme this year is *The man from Nazareth* and will be a focus on the life of Jesus, with study groups split according to ages. They have already had a good number of bookings but there are still spaces left for any interested in joining them this year.
The booking and consent form can be downloaded from their ecclesial website at www.malvernchristadelphians.org.uk, the password you will need to access the camp page is malvwr14.

The all-inclusive cost (which also includes coach transport to/from camp from either Malvern/Birmingham/Shrewsbury) remains unchanged this year at 105 pounds - full details are on the booking form including details of how to pay online or by cheque.

They would love to see you if you are able to make it this year, and whilst they can't guarantee the Welsh weather, they can promise you a week of fun and fellowship around God's word with like minded people.

Kapalpal Christadelphian School, Vanuatu

Where’s Vanuatu?  These picturesque islands are in the South Pacific, about 1,500 miles from Australia. This beautiful archipelago is not only noteworthy because of its stunning landscape, but also because of the spiritual inroads that have been made to spread the Good News.

The Kapalpal Christadelphian School is located on the island of Tanna  in Vanuatu.
The school opened its doors in 2009 and was begun in support of a brother who was volunteer teaching. The school, originally built to accommodate 70 children, was soon overburdened with 200 students!
A second building was added in 2010 and this year, a junior secondary school has been established. The extra classes for high school have meant that space has again become a major issue.

Thanks to volunteer workers and funding supplied by WCF, this summer a new building was constructed of earth-bags and timber. The students in the high school range in age from 12-20. Such an age range is not unusual in Vanuatu, where non-compulsory education can be interrupted for many reasons. The school follows the curriculum provided by the Vanuatu education department. Since Kapalpal is considered by the authorities to be a 'mission' school, the brethren have the freedom to teach the Good New of the Scriptures.
In the primary school, Sunday School lessons are also taught and a Bible camp is held annually.
The new building is made in good part of earth bags – synthetic bags filled with dirt. The upper half of the building is made of timber and is covered by an iron roof. Because the cost of getting materials to the island is high it was decided to employ local materials—bags of dirt and timber. Not only did this reduce building costs, but it was also a design that the local community could afford and replicate. The bags of earth would also in turn provide better protection from the cold, wind and rain compared to thatch and bamboo. It is anticipated that if built well, the earth bag homes should last much longer than those made of traditional materials. This project was facilitated by a grant of $20,000 from WCF.

P2P Sunday School

P1150167

There where fifteen volunteers who came from the USA to help out during the school holidays to run some holiday club programs for the children to attend.

P2P at their Sunday School ran a games day where they played many different games with children. The nice thing about the good weather and playing outside is that other children could see the activities and liked it so much that they also wanted to join in.

2P found children walking by on the street coming in and joining them. At the end of the afternoon they had just over 60 children attending.
Close on 55 children attend. There were two crafts for them to make and take home and then P2P played games with them so they could get to know one another.

Dunstable Christadelphians at the Luton Carnival!

Dunstable Christadelphians are a small UK ecclesia with around 30 members, mainly from the older generation, although we also have a huge number of children joining us in toddler group, Sunday school and two youth groups..

Dunstable is a typical UK market town, with quite a lot of medieval history and plenty of interesting people to talk to when we go out preaching.

Next door is Luton, which is a very different place altogether. Its a vibrant, multicultural community with several diverse and strongly religious groups.. For several years now we have been receiving details of many interested in knowing more about the Bible and have a list of 75. This year we decided that although it would be very challenging we must go and explore what opportunities there were to preach the Word.

Now we have an amazing door opened to us - the Luton Carnival is 2nd only to the famous UK carnival at Notting Hill in London, and we have been given permission to have a literature stand there amongst the crowds in the park - estimated at 100,000!

So we have ordered lots of Bibles to give away and a mountain of literature! The Lord has blessed us with the willing help of some brothers from Birmingham who are much more experienced at preaching to a multicultural audience.

The event will be on May 25th 2009 - pray for us!
