Walking alone?

Often times in our Christian lives we feel that we are walking alone. Not only are we walking alone, but when it comes to following the direction of God, we feel that we are standing alone. We feel as if there is no one who will stand beside us. We just feel alone.

But are we alone? Do we want to be alone?

There will be times where we must Stand Alone, but that does not mean we are really standing on our own without without Christ or without his Father, our God, the divine Creator Who as a Spirit is everywhere every time. God is always with His creation.

The apostle Paul did know that he had to do a big battle, but that he was not left alone to do it.
Luke was mentioned as being present with Paul at the end, but Paul still did felt “at my first answer no man stood with me…” except “…the Lord stood with me…”

We may have no guilt in life, no fear in death because we can find the power of Christ in us.
From life’s first cry to final breath Jesus should command our destiny. By following Christ Jesus, Jeshua the son of God, no power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck us from Jesus his hand nor from God His hand.

Like the apostle Paul and the first Christians we have to do more than our part at first. We might feel alone in this big world of materialism which does not seem to be interested in a future life nor a god.

Often we are thinking we are important in this world. But are we really that? Are we not just like a little grain of sand on the beach?
We may become of certain importance but than we also have to make others feel important – because they are. We should be concerned about their future and let them feel that we are not only interested in ourselves.

When we are willing to willing to get uncomfortable, at the same time trusting in the Creator God, we should not worry so much. We may trust that He Who started to work in us will bring us further on our way. (Philippians 1:6)

We also mostly forget that when we need a helping hand, we may find one at the end of our arm.

As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands.  One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”
- Audrey Hepburn
“What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?”
- George Eliot
“Determine never to be idle… It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.”
— Thomas Jefferson
How bouncy are you? Can you use setbacks to spring you into new realizations? Use insults or criticisms to lift you into new heights?
The next time you get knocked down, remember that you have a choice whether you want to rest first, or bounce right back up.
Try it right now. See if you can bounce off any resistance or bad feelings. See how high you can go. See if you can shift your view.
- From Thought For Today.

In the power of Christ we shall be able to stand .

Genuine prayer

"There cannot be genuine prayer till there is a genuine faith in God,
and genuine faith in God cannot in our day be attained except by a continual dwelling in the word.
It is in the word we make His acquaintance, both as to what He has done,
what He has promised, what He desires in us, and what He is in Himself.
These things are not learnt by looking at the sky, the sea, the mountains, or any other features of nature. God had to reveal Himself for us to know Him."

People who know how to pray to move God to take hold of our affairs in a mighty way

Above all else the Church today needs people...
Alan Hermann
Above all else the Church today needs people who will constantly claim and prove God’s promises in prayer. These are the people who will determine the health and future of the modern church. It is not educated people we need today. It is not more money that the church requires. (The church is never short of money but of God centred prayer warriors who live their prayers.) It is not better structures, more programs, improved facilities or effective publicity helpful though these are. It is people of all ages and backgrounds who know how to pray, who will in prayer move God to take hold of our affairs in a mighty way and put life and power into the church and all its structures. Such prayer is dangerous. When it is active radical things happen and we must be prepared for our lives to be shaken to their foundations. Are we people who are available to God to be used when the Holy Spirit moves in response to prayer? If so then let us pray and risk everything to God. We will never be the same again. Are we game?

Call for prayer to help with unity crisis

Peter Wisniowski on behalf of the Church St. Ecclesial Arranging Board writes

Greetings in the Master's Name!

The Church St. Ecclesia wishes to warmly invite all the ecclesias to join with us in a day of prayer to petition our Heaveny Father during this difficult time. The attached letter seeks the involvement of every member to join with us in a day of prayer on, God willing, Sunday July 11, 10:30 AM, 2010 EST. The purpose of this is to join hearts and hands to call upon our God to help with our unity crisis and the many problems facing the Brotherhood in this day and age. It is with great desire that we humbly ask you to consider agreeing with this initiative and sharing this request with your ecclesias. We believe that we all seek to worship in spirit and in truth and that, as one body, we yearn for Biblical unity. And we know that God can help, for nothing is impossible for Him!

Church St. Ecclesia has greatly responded to this prayer meeting request and will have a half hour early start time before our breaking of bread service , having arranged ahead of time the brethren who will offer up prayer for Biblical unity and other necessary things. We will have a continuous sequence of prayer with little interuption and end with the memorial. You may however have your own way of performing this prayer meeting - whatever works for you. As stated in the accompanying letter , we wish this day of prayer go even beyond the borders of this province. Please pass this message on far and wide!

Your brother by Providence,
On behalf of the Church St. Ecclesial Arranging Board,
Peter Wisniowski

Prayer request opportunity

Once in a while we can be squeezed with difficult questions.  Sometimes we do not know where to go to with our questions and difficulties.  But we must realize that there is always someone that is always prepared to listen.
We have our Father that is in heaven, and is a loving father who always keeps an eye on HIs Creation.

If you wish you now can share your feelings and prayers with followers of Christ and send your requests to pray to God. You may ask them to pray together with you for you or for others.

Work with joy and pray with love

"Work with joy
Pray with love
Dream from your heart
Share what you have
Live simply, Love deeply"
- Unknown

“We can do nothing, say we sometimes,
we can only pray. That, thus we feel, is a moderate alternative.
As long as we can work and run around,
as long we raise a hand, we have hope;
but if we must fall back on God -- ah, then must be the things really critical!”
 - A. J. Gossip

"Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later."
- Og Mandino

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16

"And He was saying, "The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows - how, he himself does not know. The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head.
But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."
Mark 4:26-29

I ask you God that I always might accomplish my work for good capacity.
Let others be satisfied with it, and let it be to advancement for my later life.

Give your worries to God

“Any concern too small to be a prayer is too small to be a burden.”
- Corrie ten Boom

"Give your worries to God before you
sleep, 'cause He's going to be awake anyhow"
- Unknown

"God does not give his grace as he gives his sunlight
- proportional poured over all.
He brings distinction in spiritual blessings.
He gives strength to the extent that we need it.
His eye is always on us  in tender, caring love
and He
provides us with what we need."

- J. R. Miller

“Jehovah is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
Jehovah is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Psalm 27:1

“Jehovah is my strength and song,
And he is become my salvation:
This is my God, and I will praise him; My father’s God, and I will exalt him.”
Exodus 15:2

Jehovah have mercy on me and my neighbours.
Take worries away from us and guide us safely through this life.
I will sacrifice unto you with the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay that which I have vowed.
By you Yahweh, Jehovah, my God is my salvation.

If you think you're too small to be effective

"If you think you're too small to be effective,
you've never been to bed with a mosquito."
- Anita Roddick

The repetition of small efforts
will accomplish more than the occasional use of great talents.
- Charles H. Spurgeon

"The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much."
James 5:16

"Now Jesus was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, saying, 'In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.' For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.' And the Lord said, 'Hear what the unrighteous judge said; now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly.'"
Luke 18:1-8

I ask you God that I shall be able to use all my small talents to the good.

Quit griping about your church

"Quit griping about your church;
if it was perfect, you couldn't belong …"
- Unknown

The modern church rejects the outcasts of society
where as these very outcasts were the very ones who were drawn to Jesus.
- Philip Yancey

"For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect;
but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away."
1 Corinthians 13:9-10

"God let it grow. It is not for those who plant and watered it, but only God who gives the increase. The planter and the one watering are working for the same end and or on an equal footing, each will receive pay for their own work and effort. They will have their separate rewards in the measure of their work. For we are God's co-workers, you are God's field or cultivated farm, God's building.
According to the grace given me by God, I have, as a wise master builder, laid the foundation on which another builds. But let everyone watch as or consider how he builds on that foundation. Because no one can lay a foundation other than what already is laid, namely Yeshua, Jesus Christ, the Messiah. "
1 Corinthians 3:6-11

“Join him, the Living Stone
rejected by men but chosen and precious in the sight of God. "
1 Peter 2:4

Help me, Lord, to remember that religion is not to be confined to the church...
nor exercised only in prayer and meditation,
but that every where I am in Thy Presence.
- Susanna Wesley

Does God answer prayer?

Nobody who is even faintly religious would deny that prayer Is part of the religious life. In all sorts of religions people are calling to their gods. Lots of rituals are brought forwards to attract gods or to get their attention.
In the rich countries nobody wants to know about God, but as soon as something serious happens they all start to blame God, or they start praying to Him. People who have had little to do with a church, who have seldom picked up a Bible, who have given scant attention to God, will, faced with a crisis, turn to prayer.

Many a helpless individual, faced with the stark reality of death, has gone down on his knees in prayer. It sometimes comes as a surprise to discover that some of the most powerful men in history have been men of prayer.

There are those who pray because they are conscious of a need and recognize that God alone can meet that need. Are they right in thinking that it matters how and to whom they pray?
Does there exist  an effective prayer?

Does God answer prayer?

What are, according to you, possible answers:

- Yes. He answers all prayer from anybody about everything.
- Only about our long-term salvation not day to day trivia.
- Only if we are in covenant relationship with him.
- Yes but forgiveness is available only to those who have believed the true Gospel and been baptized.
- No. God is not interested in us or our petty problems.
- Don't know.

Now go to www.thisisyourbible.com to submit your answer.

God doesn't call the qualified

"God doesn't call the qualified,
He qualifies the called."
- Unknown

God doesn't call people who are qualified.
He calls people who are willing,
and then He qualifies them.
- Richard Parker

God examines both rich and poor,
not according to their lands and houses,
but according to the riches of their hearts.
- St. Augustine of Hippo

We must alter our lives in order to alter our hearts,
for it is impossible to live one way and pray another.
- William Law

"May you be strengthened with all power,
according to his glorious might,
for all endurance and patience with joy,
giving thanks to the Father,
who has qualified us to share
in the inheritance of the saints in light."
Colossians 1:11-12
