"Let op dat u hem die spreekt niet afwijst. Want als zij al niet ontkomen zijn toen ze degene afwezen die hen op aarde onderrichtte, dan kunnen wij, wanneer we ons afkeren van degene die dat vanuit de hemel doet, helemaal niet ontkomen."

OVERDENKING:
Met het geschenk van Jezus komt een geweldige verantwoordelijkheid: we moeten luisteren, volgen en hem eren! Als God eiste dat zijn volk gehoorzaam was aan mindere boodschappers zoals profeten of koningen, wat is dan onze verantwoordelijkheid om te luisteren wanneer hij Jezus ons gegeven heeft zodat de glorie van zijn Zoon misschien op ons mag schijnen?

GEBED:
Dank u, Vader, voor het sturen van uw Zoon en mijn Heiland, Jezus. Alstublieft, HEER, ik wil me realiseren wat dit voor mij betekent. Geef mij alstublieft kracht en geef mij wijsheid, zodat ik getrouw kan luisteren en Jezus dienen, in wiens naam ik bid. Amen.

    With the gift of Jesus comes an awesome responsibility: we must listen, follow, and honor him! If God demanded that his people obey his lesser messengers who were prophets or kings, what do you think the responsibility is for us to listen when he has given his Son's glory so that it might shine on us?

    Thank you, dear Father, for sending your Son and my Savior, Jesus. Please, dear LORD, I do not want to ever take that gift for granted. Please empower me and give me wisdom so that I can faithfully listen and serve Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
