Verbum Domini

Pope Benedict's promulgation of Verbum Domini, the document in which he bestows on the Church the rich fruit of the twelfth Synod of Bishops (2008), which reflected on the Word of God in the life and mission of the Church. >

  • > Verbum Domini joins Dei Verbum and three papal encyclicals-- Pope Leo XIII's Providentissimus Deus (1893), Pope Benedict XV's Spiritus Paraclitus (1920), and Venerable Pius XII's Divino Afflante Spiritu (1943)-- as a milestone in the development of Catholic teaching on Sacred Scripture, which is summarized in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (nos. 101-141).

  • U God houdt de toekomst in handen

    "Ik weet niet wat de toekomst vasthoudt;
maar ik weet wie de toekomst vasthoudt".
    - Onbekend

    "En alle deze,
    goedkeuring door hun geloof
    gewonnen hebbend,
hebben niet ontvangen wat werd beloofd,
    omdat God iets beters voor
    ons had verzorgd,
    zodat apart van ons zij
niet perfect zouden worden gemaakt". Hebreeuwen 11:39-40

    Uw Koninkrijk.

"And all these, having gained approval through their faith,
did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us,
so that apart from us they would not be made perfect."
    Hebrews 11:39-40

Today's suffering has nothing in comparison with
    the magnificence that
    will become revealed in us.
    Let me be able to
    carry this
    and let me full
    hope look at the magnificence
    that will become
    reality for forever,
    Your Kingdom.
