Reasons why they cannot do what they want to

"Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to,
when all they need is one reason why they can."
- Mary Frances Berry

The difference between perseverance and obstinancy is that one often comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won't.
- Henry Ward Beecher

There are only 2 reasons everyone is not a Christian:
 1) They do not know a Christian or
 2) They do.
- Author Unknown

"Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, 'Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.'"
Luke 8:47-48

God, I am grateful that I got the opportunity to know your son.
Let my will and approach to others ever be worn by Jesus his example.

Samenreizende

Travelling Together

We are companions on the road through life, every one of us trying to find the right way forward.

  • We must try to live in harmony with one another, because we all need help and encouragement, especially when things are difficult.

  • We must try to live in harmony with our environment and thus appreciate the opportunities in life that God has given us.

  • But most importantly we must learn to live in harmony with God, so that we might walk with Him through life and thus obtain the priceless gift of eternal life when Jesus returns.

If we are to do this successfully we must be in agreement with God’s values and familiar with His view of life. A prophet once issued this challenge: “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3). The answer is clearly “No!” But the opportunity still exists for us to make an agreement with God and to learn to follow His direction through life. There is no better way.

The one who has not had a taste of love

The one who has not had a taste of love
Is but a piece of wood or stone to God.
Love extracts water from stones;
Love removes rust from mirrors.
infidelity seeks war, faith peace;
Love sets fire to war and peace alike.
Love opens its mouth in the sea of the heart;
It devours the two worlds like a whale.
Like a lion, love knows no ruse;
It does not change from a lion to a fox.

- Rumi

It is good for me to draw near to God. — PSA. 73:28.

It is good for me to draw near to God.PSA. 73:28.

Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. — A day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a door‑keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. — Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. — Therefore will the Lord wait that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us: ... let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience.

Being Justified by faith

“Just, and the justifier of him which believeth.”

Romans 3:26

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God. Conscience accuses no longer. Judgment now decides for the sinner instead of against him. Memory looks back upon past sins, with deep sorrow for the sin, but yet with no dread of any penalty to come; for Christ has paid the debt of his people to the last jot and tittle, and received the divine receipt; and unless God can be so unjust as to demand double payment for one debt, no soul for whom Jesus died as a substitute can ever be cast into hell. It seems to be one of the very principles of our enlightened nature to believe that God is just; we feel that it must be so, and this gives us our terror at first; but is it not marvellous that this very same belief that God is just, becomes afterwards the pillar of our confidence and peace! If God be just, I, a sinner, alone and without a substitute, must be punished; but Jesus stands in my stead and is punished for me; and now, if God be just, I, a sinner, standing in Christ, can never be punished. God must change his nature before one soul, for whom Jesus was a substitute, can ever by any possibility suffer the lash of the law. Therefore, Jesus having taken the place of the believer—having rendered a full equivalent to divine wrath for all that his people ought to have suffered as the result of sin, the believer can shout with glorious triumph, “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect?” Not God, for he hath justified; not Christ, for he hath died, “yea rather hath risen again.” My hope lives not because I am not a sinner, but because I am a sinner for whom Christ died; my trust is not that I am holy, but that being unholy, he is my righteousness. My faith rests not upon what I am, or shall be, or feel, or know, but in what Christ is, in what he has done, and in what he is now doing for me. On the lion of justice the fair maid of hope rides like a queen.

A remaining name

"My name from the palms of His hands
Eternity will not erase;
Impress'd on His heart it remains,
In marks of indelible grace."

"He shall present my soul,
Unblemish'd and complete,
Before the glory of His face,
With joys divinely great"

"I, among the blood-wash'd throng,
Shall wave the palm, and wear the crown,
And shout loud victory"

"Grace all the work shall crown
Through everlasting days;
It lays in Heaven the topmost stone,
And well deserves the praise"

When we love we do not need laws

If everyone would keep God's laws and would keep to love,
we would not to have civil laws who should remind us what we can and can not.
If we love God we know how we should live in harmony.
Where love has entered, there is no law necessary to focus.
- Marcus Ampe

We too often love things and use people
when we should be using things and loving people.
- Author Unknown

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
We must learn to live together as brothers, or perish together as fools.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

The first duty of love is to listen.
- Paul Tillich

“Let not kindness and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart:”
Proverbs 3:3

“Hatred stirreth up strifes; But love covereth all transgressions.”
Proverbs 10:12

“Do they not err that devise evil? But mercy and truth [shall be to] them that devise good.”
Proverbs 14:22

God I am grateful for the love you give me
I ask You that I shall be able to give much love to others.
