There is nothing noble in the flesh left to itself.
It is petty, insignificant, narrow and cloudy.
Only in the things of the Spirit is there that which is noble,
sublime, far-reaching, broad, intelligent, interesting and everlasting-

" The thinking of the flesh, uninfluenced by the ameliorating agency of divine truth, is so degenerating in its effects that it reduces man to savagism. There is nothing elevating or ennobling in fleshly thoughts; on the contrary, they tend to physical deterioration and death; for "to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace" (Rom. viii 6). If ferocious creatures become tame, or civilized, it is the result of what may be termed spiritual influences; which, operating from without the animal, call into exercise its higher powers, by which the more turbulent are subdued, or kept in check."
"The unilluminated thinking of the flesh gives birth to the "works of the flesh; which are, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, las-civiousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, dissensions, sects, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like" (Gal. v. 19). Unchecked by the truth and judgments of God, the world would have been composed solely of such characters."

Er is niets edel in het vlees dat tot zichzelf wordt gelaten.
Het is klein, onbeduidend, smal en mistig.
Enkel in de dingen van de Geest is daar dat edel, subliem, verrijkend, breed en intelligent is, interessant en eeuwigdurend.

"Het denken aan het vlees, beïnbvloed door het verbeterende vertegenwoordiging van goddelijke waarheid, is zo degenererend in zijn resultaten dat het de mens naar savagism reduceert. Er is niets verphefends of veredelend in vleselijke gedachten; integendeel, zij zijn geneigd naar lichamelijke achteruitgang en dood; voor "vleselijk bedacht te zijn is doods; maar om geestelijk bedacht te zijn is leven en vrede" (Romeinen 8: 6). Indien woeste schepsels tam worden of civiliseerd, is het het resultaat waarvan geestelijke invloeden kunnen worden genoemd; die, zonder het dierlijke zich bedienend, roept het op tot het oefenen van zijn hogere machten, waardoor het turbulenter in controle is onderworpen of bijgehouden".

Uitzonderlijk getuigenis uit Israel

Duncan Heaster heeft een viedeo gemaakt met een getuigenis van Broeder Samuel waarin deze beschrijft hoe hij door de Sinai woestijn van Egypte een tocht van 18 dagen maakte en water van de bronnen dronk en enkel brood at.
Zij waren met 26, maar slechts 18 geraakten in Betshaba.

Brother Samuel describes how he walked 18 days by foot across the Sinai desert, climbed and vaulted the border fences, and got to Beer Sheba. Chased by Egyptian military, eating bread once / day, drinking water from camel wells... And now has learnt the full Gospel and ...been baptized.
