We should be aware that a Christian fellowship lives and exists by the intercession of its members for one another, or it collapses.

In our society each individual has his or her own responsibility and should feel and show his or her connection with the others in the group.

Each person in a way should put himself or herself at the side giving himself or herself in the hands of God, doing the will of God and willing to help the community of the Body of Christ to grow.
each person calling himself or herself a Christian must bear the burden of a brother and a sister.

Akkoord tot een staakt-het-vuren tussen Palestijnse leiders in Gaza en Israël

De afgelopen dagen is er heel wat heen en weer geschoten tussen Gaza en Israël.

Volgens het ministerie van Gezondheid in Gaza kwamen negentien Palestijnen om bij Israëlische bombardementen. Onder de doden zijn een zwangere vrouw en een baby van van vier maanden. Zeker zes Palestijnen waren militanten van de islamistische groep Hamas, of bondgenoot Islamitische Jihad, zeggen de twee organisaties.

Aan de Israëlische kant van de grens kwamen vier burgers om door raketbeschietingen. Er was ook zeker één antitankraket bij, zeggen de Israëlische autoriteiten. De secretaris-generaal van de Verenigde Naties, Antonio Guterres, riep zondag op tot 'maximale terughoudendheid' en een 'onmiddelijk de-escalatie'.

Na het ergste geweld in de regio sinds de oorlog van 2014 kwam door bemiddeling van Egypte een staakt-het-vuren van kracht vanaf maandagochtend 6 mei om 4.30 uur. Een Egyptische verantwoordelijke, die anoniem wil blijven, bevestigt het nieuws aan AFP. De woordvoerder van het Israëlische leger gaf geen commentaar.

Uitdrijving bevolking provincie Idlib

Van een bufferzone voor de provincie Idlib lijkt er de afgelopen tien dagen niet veel meer over te blijven.

De burgers in Idlib  lijken de dupe van een nieuw offensief van het regime te zijn. Idlib is het laatste rebellenbolwerk dat nog niet heroverd is door het regime van president Bashar al-Assad. Er wonen zo'n anderhalf miljoen mensen. Verschillende jihadisten uit andere delen van Syrië hebben zich de laatste jaren in de provincie gevestigd en zich tussen de bevolking gemengd of zich in nieuwe groeperingen herenigd. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), de lokale afdeling van Al-Qaeda, is de grootste radicale beweging die er actief is.

Het Assad-regime gebruikt sinds lange tijd ook weer helikopters met vatenbommen, gevuld met explosieven en granaatscherven. Uit die aanvallen blijkt duidelijk dat het er om gaat om zo veel mogelijk slachtoffers te maken.
Wanneer de Witte Helmen ter plaatse zijn om mensen van onder het puin te redden nadat de helikopters hun bommen dropten, krijgen ze te maken met Russische of Syrische gevechtsvliegtuigen die een tweede bom gooien op de getroffen locatie. Daarna volgt dan weer een golf van artillerievuur.

De bombardementen hebben duizenden bewoners uit hun huizen gedreven. Volgens Ayman K.van de lokale hulporganisatie de Witte Helmen zijn in het zuiden van Idlib zo'n 50 grote en kleine steden compleet leeg. De inwoners zijn naar andere steden gevlucht of zoeken hun heil in opvangkampen aan de Turkse grens. De grens zelf blijft stevig gesloten. Ankara is bang voor een enorme vluchtelingenstroom waaronder wellicht ook jihadisten die doorreizen naar Europa.

Opening van twee Messiaanse kerken in Zeeland

Binnen een maand tijd openden twee Messiaanse kerken in Zeeland hun deuren: in 's Heer-Arendskerke en Sint Laurens.

Het is niet duidelijk wat hun geloofspunten zijn, maar ik vrees er voor dat zij als  komende uit de reformatorische hoek, misschien wel hebben mogen inzien dat veel van wat ze deden niet echt Bijbels was, maar daarmee nog niet hun geloof in de Drie-eenheid hebben afgelegd.

Zij geven wel toe dat

"Ooit hielden de eerste christenen op zaterdag hun dienst. Maar door keizer Constantijn is dat veranderd. Hij wilde een duidelijkere scheiding tussen joden en christenen en besloot de zondag als rustdag in te stellen."

Maar het is niet door de zondagdienst te verwisselen met een sabbat dienst daarmee het Bijbelse geloof terugkomt.

Volgens Willem Dane van de Messiaanse gemeente in Sint Laurens zijn ze christelijk. Hij zegt

 "We geloven in Jezus als zoon van God. Een groot verschil met de joden. Wij willen echter terug naar wat er echt in de Bijbel staat en hoe de eerste christenen leefden en daarom vieren we bijvoorbeeld de sabbat."

Hij gaat echter niet dieper in op dat zoonschap, door duidelijker te  maken dat Jezus niet een "god de zoon" is.

André Duijzer ziet wel dat er in de loop der eeuwen allerlei heidense gebruiken de kerk zijn ingeslopen. Hij zegt daarom

 "Wij vieren geen kerst. We kunnen nergens in de Bijbel vinden dat dit moet, terwijl er een heleboel feesten wél genoemd worden die niet gevierd worden! Wij vieren rond kerst Chanoeka."

Trouble is coming to Bashan (Golan)

The Golan Heights overlooks Israel to its west, Lebanon to its north, Syria to its east, and Jordan to its south. During the 1967 Six Day War, Syrian forces on the Golan Heights shelled Israeli farms, and Israeli forces captured the territory from them.

The US decision to recognize the Golan Heights as Israel's territory was taken bypassing the UN Security Council and ignoring the UN dialogue on the issue, 

said Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of Russia’s Lower House.

 “All members of the international community should voice their stand on the matter,”

 he said during the meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun. Such a development could lead to a situation where

“everyone is fighting each other,”

 he stressed.

 “The rule of force would dominate. This is a highway to war.”

When US President Donald Trump signed a declaration recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, he created tension again over that particular area which was seized by Israel from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967 and formally annexed by the Jewish state in 1981.

 In response to the US decision the UN reminded that the UN Security Council in a December 1981 resolution called Israel's annexation of the Golan Heights

“null and void and without international legal effect"

 and this position hasn’t changed. Russia, Turkey, and the Arab League have also condemned the move.


The recognition that the Golan Heights are Israel’s by president Trump has potential to create more tension in the region.
 Russia is not happy at all about Trump’s pronouncement. The speaker of Russia’s lower house called it a “highway to war”. 

The Biblical name for the Golan Heights is Bashan. Bashan howls in Zechariah 11  - the chapter before the conflict over Jerusalem. Trouble is coming to Bashan (Golan)…

Die International Railway Mission (IRM) www.railway-mission.net (seit 1926) ist ein überkonfessioneller Dachverband, welcher christliche Vereinigungen von Bahnen weltweit vernetzen will.

"Christen bei der Bahn" sollen weltweit ermutigt werden, lokale oder regionale Treffpunkte zu gründen und sich zu einem Landesverband zu formieren. Wir haben bereits nationale Organisationen und Kontakte in den Ländern unten erwähnt- aber auch dort suchen wir Verstärkung! Bitte helfen Sie uns Christen bei der Bahn in Belgien zu finden!

The International Railway Mission (IRM) www.railway-mission.net (founded in 1926) is an interdenominational federation which connects Christian fellowships with railroad men (and employees of public transport companies) all over the world.

Christians who work with the railway (and other public transport companies) shall be encouraged to start local or regional meetings and to form a national association.

We already have national organizations and contacts in the counties mentioned below. But there also we are looking for reinforcement! Please help us to find Christians in the railway sector in Belgium! We also invite them to join us at our international IRM conference this summer in the Netherlands.
