When you talk a lot, you are sure to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet
“In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking; but he who holds back his lips [is] wise.” (Pr 10:19 MKJV)
“For he that wants to love life and to see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile.” (1Pe 3:10 MKJV)
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” (Jas 1:19 MKJV)
“He who has knowledge uses few words; a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he [is] silent, is counted wise, and he who shuts his lips [is counted as] a man of understanding.” (Pr 17:27-28 MKJV)
“For a dream comes through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice by the multitude of words.” (Ec 5:3 MKJV)
“to speak evil of no one, not being quarrelsome, [but] forbearing, showing all meekness to all men.” (Tit 3:2 MKJV)
“But shun profane, vain babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.” (2Ti 2:16 MKJV)
“from which some, having swerved, have turned aside to foolish talking,” (1Ti 1:6 MKJV)
“And with it all they also learn [to be] idle, going around the houses; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things they ought not.” (1Ti 5:13 MKJV)
“But I say to you that every idle word, whatever men may speak, they shall give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.” (Mt 12:36-37 MKJV)
Say this: Lord, please help me to control my tongue and only say what is acceptable to you.
