Just an Ordinary Day

"Sometime some ordinary day will come,
A busy day like this - filled to the brim
With ordinary tasks - perhaps so full
That we have little thought or care for Him.

And there will be no hint from silent skies,
No sign, no clash of cymbals, roll of drums;
And yet that ordinary day will be
The very day in which our Lord will come."
- Unknown

"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others;
but let us watch and be sober."
1 Thessalonians 5:6

"Looking for that blessed hope,
and the appearance of the glory of the great God,
and of our Saviour Jesus Christ."
Titus 2:13

God Our father, I ask You that I can look out with peace of mind
to the last Judgement day
and that I will have the opportunity to enter Your kingdom.

  1. Let us look forward to the day of Salvation. Salvation is "reckoned/accounted/imputed" based on faith on the blood of Jesus relating to the promises that are not yet seen. (Romans 8:24; 2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:14; Hebrews 10:36; 2 Peter 3:13; 1 John 2:28,29) It is a matter of distinguishing the manner of present salvation. The justification in this age is reckoned/accounted/imputed. (Romans 4:3-6,8-11,22-24; 6:11; Galatians 3:6; James 2:23; Greek, Logizomai, Strong's #3049)

    We as believers can already be blessed now on this earth. We can enjoy life now and everlasting life in the age to come. (Mark 10:30; Luke 18:30; 1 Timothy 4:8) We could say that being part of the Brotherhood in Christ, fixing our mind on the things above, we accept Christ already as our ruler and the kingdom is ruling now legitimately in the hearts of those who love the Lord. And we know that God can be at work in us when we trust Him. As Paul said, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Those who seek the things of the kingdom, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit shall be able to find it. (Romans 14:17 Revelation 1:9 Colossians 1:13) The kingdom being a spiritual kingdom is what causes people to do God's will on earth as in heaven, just a Christ did.

    What the believer receives is a token, earnest, down payment of that salvation, tasting of the powers of the age to come. -- (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:14; Colossians 3:4,24; Hebrews 6:5; 9:28; 1 Peter 5:4).

    Let us eagerly look forward to Judgment day and make sure that we all be ready.
