Our prayers are urgently needed as four local brothers and sisters in the Congo have been kidnapped last weekend and unless a ransom is forthcoming they will all be shot! A poor sister was released and had to be taken into hospital and a brother has been released to find the money. No Government intervention will take place because if a ransom is paid they will target other Christadelphians throughout Africa.
A brother in the Congo is currently negotiating for them

Sonia

Dear brothers and sisters,
Messages are circulating at the moment, saying that Brother David Smith and three Congolese brothers have been taken hostage in Eastern Congo DRC, and that the kidnappers have threatened to shoot them if a ransom is not paid.
I have just telephoned David, who, thank the Lord, is safely at home in England. Three brothers are indeed being held by a group in Congo, and negotiations are under way, with the brothers there. They particularly need our prayers. So far, the group which is holding them has apparently not threatened to shoot them, but it is clear that all of our brothers and sisters in that region are living in a very difficult and dangerous situation.
Your sister in Jesus,
Sonia
Saturday evening the good news reach us: our 3 Congolese brothers have been released. Thank the Lord!
