Forums ter verkondiging van het evangelie

De Forums  http://bijbelonderzoekers.multiply.com/, http://christadelphians.multiply.com/ en http://www.godshope.net/forum-nl.php maken deel uit van pogingen om het evangelie mee te helpen verkondigen.

De betrachting is om eenieder duidelijk te laten inzien waarom de keuze van Jehovah God verantwoord is, waarom wij Jezus Christus aanvaarden als de Beloofde Redder, onze enige Messias.Tot eenieder die het wil horen willen wij tijdingen brengen van het Goede Nieuws omtrent het beloofde Koninkrijk van God waar wij met stelligheid mogen naar uitkijken.

Eigenlijk zou elkeen die zich Christen noemt mee moeten werken aan die verspreiding van het Goede Nieuws.

De nieuwe media zijn pracht hulpmiddelen en gelukkig zien wij ook op het Nederlandstalige net mooie pogingen om die prachtige boodschap die ons in het verschiet ligt uit te dragen. Algemeen Christelijk is er zo in het Nederlands een mooie aanbrenger van gedachtepuntjes: http://bijbelonderzoekers.multiply.com/tag/bijbelonderzoek.

Deze plaatsen van bezinning kunnen er toe bijdragen dat Gods Woord verder de wereld in gaat en soms toch ook doordringt in ogenschijnlijk moeilijk doordringbare plaatsen.

Iedereen tot wie het woord kan doordringen hoort daarop stappen te ondernemen. elke kleine bijdrage kan waardig zijn. samen op een Forum denken en napraten over gedachtspunten is een positieve daad van bereidwilligheid om zich open te stellen tot het denken. Waar twee mensen samen zijn en praten over Christus zal deze zich ook in hun midden begeven en zullen er kansen geboden worden om meer inzicht te krijgen in het werk, de doelstellingen, de hoop, de opdracht van Jezus en de taken voor ons zelf te leren kennen.

De verkondiging van het Woord van God zal verder het werk laten groeien. Iedere Christen moet dit in alle eerlijkheid betrachten waar te maken en dan zal de beoordelaar en Rechter van God zeker tot hen komen en oog hebben voor hun daden en hun mee laten delen in het leven, want geloof zonder werken is dood.

Op de verspreiding van de Goede Boodschap staat geen beperking van leeftijd, ras of sekse.

Alle met het geloof begane Christenen moeten zorgen dat zij door hun goede voorbeeld, woord en daad, anderen tot het geloof kunnen brengen en deze leerlingen weer als zendelingen discipelen van Jezus laten worden. De apostelen hadden alles werkelijk kunnen mee beleven en konden niet anders dan spreken over wat ze gezien en gehoord hadden. (Hnd 4:20) Voor diegenen die later zijn geboren ligt het moeilijker, want zij konden niet rechtstreeks vernemen. Zij konden er geen rechtstreekse getuigen van zijn. Daar ligt echter ook een deel van het geloof in verscholen. Als zij werkelijk geloof hebben in wat er in de vroege eeuwen van deze tijdrekening gebeurd is zou niets hen hoeven tegen te houden om op weg te gaan en alle volken tot Christus leerlingen te maken. Wij kunnen er naar uitkijken dat wij als volgelingen onder de hoede van Jezus Christus zullen mogen staan en dit voor ogen kunnen houden dat Jezus gezegd heeft: "ik ben met jullie, alle dagen, tot aan de voltooiing van deze wereld. (Mt 28:19-20)

2016 update

Sinds enkele jaren heeft Multiply de service voor bloggers op gegeven en zijn meerderre bloggers naar andere platformen over gestapt. Zo ook wij met de Belgische Christadelphians.

Bekering een 'keerpunt'

Sebastiaan Pikaar schreef: "De gehele bijbel roept op tot bekering. Alle profeten uit het 'Oude' Testament maar ook uit het 'Nieuwe' Testament. Yeshua haMashiach (Jezus de Messias) zegt bv. in Marcus 2: 'Ik ben niet gekomen om rechtvaardigen te roepen maar zondaars TOT BEKERING'  Maar niemand heeft het vandaag de dag nog over bekering omdat niemand weet wat bekering inhoudt. Bekering is nl de wil van de Vader doen. En die heeft hij aan de mensheid gegeven in de 5 boeken van Mozes.

'De mens die ze doet zal daardoor leven' (Leviticus 18:5). Hier staat niet de Israeliet of de Jood maar 'de mens'. Psalm 119:160: 'Heel Uw woord is waarheid, al Uw rechtvaardige verordeningen zijn VOOR EEUWIG'  Dat betekent dat de woorden van de Eeuwige voor ... inderdaad.... eeuwig en altijd zijn...Door ons aan Zijn wetten te houden worden we overigens niet behouden. Behouden worden we door genade van de HERE. Maar we laten zomede zien dat we Zijn Wil willen doen.

Bekering is het overgangspunt of keerpunt waar wij als gelovigen voor anderen naar uitkijken. De laatste jaren is er een trend ontstaan waarbij sommige gemeenschappen het hoofdaccent legden op de aanvaarding van Jezus als de Verlosser, of bij sommigen zelfs als God. Er werd helemaal over het hoofd gezien dat belangrijk vóór de doop de verwerping van het vorige 'zondige' leven noodzakelijk is. De 'Bekering' of het 'keren' van een levenswijze werd over het hoofd gezien. Wij als Christadelphians vinden dit echter één van de belangrijkste dingen als wij christus willen aanvaarden en volgen. Zonder omschakeling kan men geen goed Christen worden.
Men moet zich volledig over geven aan de wil van God de Vader en wij kunnen deze leren kennen door zo wel het Oude als het Nieuwe Testament te lezen. Het ene boek kan niet zonder het andere, beide zijn complementair. Want met Christus Jezus zijn er wel enkele oude wetten afgeschreven, en moeten wij deze niet meer onderhouden. en dat wordt dan verder omschreven in het Nieuwe Testament.

Casual Christians

In a wide-ranging discussion about the state of faith in America, veteran researcher George Barna recently addressed questions raised by his new book, The Seven Faith Tribes: Who They Are, What They Believe, and Why They Matter. That book outlines seven diverse faith segments, profiling their lifestyles, religious beliefs and practices, values and life goals. The seven tribes include Casual Christians, Captive Christians, Mormons, Jews, Pantheists, Muslims and Skeptics. In this week’s Update we are providing the portion of that conversation regarding the largest – and potentially most powerful – tribe, the Casual Christians, a tribe that represents 66% of the adult population of the U.S.

Barna: Casual Christianity is faith in moderation. It allows them to feel religious without having to prioritize their faith. Christianity is a low-risk, predictable proposition for this tribe, providing a faith perspective that is not demanding. A Casual Christian can be all the things that they esteem: a nice human being, a family person, religious, an exemplary citizen, a reliable employee – and never have to publicly defend or represent difficult moral or social positions or even lose much sleep over their private choices as long as they mean well and generally do their best. From their perspective, their brand of faith practice is genuine, realistic and practical. To them, Casual Christianity is the best of all worlds; it encourages them to be a better person than if they had been irreligious, yet it is not a faith into which they feel compelled to heavily invest themselves.

Casual Christianity, because of its moral receptivity and pliability, generally eliminates spiritual backbone from moral discussions. And yet, Casual Christians would typically embrace the 20 shared values that all seven of the tribes adopt as part of their moral code.

Called Christian

DISCIPLES FIRST CALLED CHRISTIANS

It is noteworthy that our Lord never gave a name to His people, but called them disciples -- pupils, learners. The Apostles have applied to the Church various terms; such as, "Church of the living God," "Church of God," "Church of Christ," "the Church." But gradually the name Christians, identifying God's people with their Redeemer, came to be the general name everywhere.

It is a pity that any have thought it necessary to adopt any other names than these, which are common to the entire Church of Christ, or to use these names in a sectarian manner. Evidently the name Christian should represent one who trusts in Christ as the Messiah -- one, therefore, who trusts in Him as the Redeemer and who accepts all the fundamental doctrines of the Scriptures. These doctrines are based upon three declarations: (1) That all were sinners, needing to be redeemed before they could be acceptable to God. (2) That the believer accepts God's forgiveness through the precious blood of Christ. (3) That he has accepted the Leadership and name of Christ and henceforth will seek to walk in His steps.

There was a start toward sectarianism in the early Church, some saying, "I am a Christian, but of the order of Paul." Others said, "I am a Christian of the order of Apollos;" still others, "I am a Christian of the order of Peter." St. Paul promptly rebuked this spirit, assuring them that relationship in Christ was all that was necessary, that neither Peter nor Paul had redeemed them, and that neither Apostle could therefore occupy the place of a head to the Church. Furthermore, the Apostle calls attention to the fact that such a spirit on their part was an evidence that much carnality still remained, much of a worldly, partisan spirit, contrary to the teachings of the Holy Spirit.--`1 Corinthians 1:10-13`; `3:1-7`.

It is to be regretted that ever since the Reformation this spirit has prevailed to a large extent, some taking the name of Luther, others, Wesley, Calvin, others non-personal, sectarian or party names such as Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, etc. We are not claiming that those who do so are wholly carnal, without the Lord's Spirit; but with the Apostles we do claim that a disposition to such partisanship is contrary to the Spirit of the Lord, and to that extent is carnal, fleshly, and should be overcome by all who would be recognized of the Lord as overcomers.

What we ought to have is one Church, one Household of Faith, accepting the plain fundamentals of Scripture, and with limitations as to acceptance of more or less conjectural views outside of those fundamentals-- all fellowshipping each other, and all known as Christians, and thus separated from all who deny the Atonement, from all who deny the results of the Atonement in the resurrection, and from all who deny the propriety of a newness of life in the present time. In this view of the matter, each individual Christian would have an independence as respects his own thought, aside from fundamentals which are clearly stated in the Scriptures.

Preferring to be a Christian

What more can I wish than that, while my brief term on earth shall last, I should be the servant of Him who became the Servant of servants for me?
I can say, concerning Christ's religion, if I had to die like a dog, and had no hope whatever of immortality, if I wanted to lead a happy life, let me serve my God with all my heart; let me be follower of Jesus, and walk in His footsteps. If there were no hereafter, I would still prefer to be a Christian, and the humblest Christian minister, to being a king or an emperor, for I am persuaded there are more delights in Christ, yea, more joy in one glimpse of His face than is to be found in all the praises of this harlot-world, and in all the delights which it can yield to us in its sunniest and brightest days. And I am persuaded that what He has been till now, He will be to the end, and where He had begun a good work, He will carry it on.

In the religion of Jesus Christ, there are clusters even on earth too heavy for one man to carry; there are fruits that have been found so rich that even angel lips have never been sweetened with more luscious wine; there are joys to be had here so fair that even cates ambrosial and the nectared wine of Paradise can scarcely excel the sweets of satisfaction that are to be found in the earthly banquets of the Lord. I have seen hundreds and thousands who have given their hearts to Jesus, but I never did see one who said he was disappointed with Him, I never met with one who said Jesus Christ was less than He was declared to be. 

When first my eyes beheld Him, when the burden slipped from off my heavy-laden shoulders, and I was free from condemnation, I thought that all the preachers I had ever heard had not half preached, they had not told half the beauty of my Lord and Master. So good! so generous! so gracious! so willing to forgive! It seemed to me as if they had almost slandered Him; they painted His likeness, doubtless, as well as they could, but it was a mere smudge compared with the matchless beauties of His face. All who have ever seen Him will say the same. I go back to my home, many a time, mourning that I cannot preach my Master even as I myself know Him, and what I know of Him is very little compared with the matchlessness of His grace. Would that I knew more of Him, and that I could tell it out better!

BIJBELVERS:
"Deze hoop zal niet worden beschaamd, omdat Gods liefde in ons hart is uitgegoten door de heilige Geest, die ons gegeven is."	
- Romeinen 5:5

OVERDENKING:
Hoop is een woord voor "watjes" geworden in onze moderne woordenschat. Het is niet eens meer een adequate vertaling van wat bedoeld werd in de meeste teksten van het Nieuwe Testament. Hoop is de zekerheid dat wat wij geloven zal gebeuren. We zouden het dan geestelijke zekerheid kunnen noemen. Die geestelijke zekerheid hebben we omdat er meer dan alleen een wens, meer dan alleen een emotie, meer dan alleen een geloof in onze harten verblijft. God woont in onze harten door zijn Heilige Geest. Wanneer wij Christenen worden, wordt de Heilige Geest op ons uitgegoten door Jezus (Titus 3:3-7), het cadeau van God voor ons (Hand. 2:38; 5:32) om ons te reinigen (1 Kor. 6:11), deel van het lichaam te maken (1 Kor. 12:12-13), en in ons te wonen (1 Kor. 6:19-20). Paulus voegt nog iets toe aan deze lijst van  zegeningen die de aanwezigheid van God ons brengt -- de liefde van God. Niet dat we die alleen maar krijgen; God blijft zijn liefde in ons vernieuwen door de Heilige Geest, net zoals!
  Jezus dat beloofde (Johannes 7:37-39).

GEBED:
Heilige en Almachtige God, overweldigend in macht en majestueus in heiligheid, dank u dat u niet alleen tot ons gekomen bent, maar dank u dat u ook in ons woont door uw Geest. Giet uw liefde in mijn hart zodat de vrucht van uw genade van mij naar anderen om mij heen mag vloeien en dat allen om mij heen uw genade zullen kennen. In de naam van Jezus bid ik. Amen.

Hope does not disappoint us

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

    Hope has become such a "wimpy" term in modern vocabulary. It hardly qualifies as an adequate translation of the meaning in most New Testament passages. Hope is the assurance that what we believe will happen. We could call it spiritual confidence. We have that spiritual confidence because more than just a wish, more than just an emotion, more than just a belief rests in our hearts; God himself lives in us through his Holy Spirit. When we become Christians, Jesus pours out the Spirit upon us (Titus 3:3-7) as God's gift to us (Acts 2:38; 5:32) to cleanse us (1 Cor. 6:11), make us part of the same Body (1 Cor. 12:12-13), and live inside us (1 Cor. 6:19-20). Paul adds one more thing to that list of blessings from God's presence within us -- God's love. We don't just have it; God keeps refreshing it through the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus had promised (John 7:37-39).

    Holy and Almighty God, awesome in power and majestic in holiness, thank you for not only coming to us, but thank you also for living in us through your Spirit. Please pour your love into my heart so that the fruit of your grace may flow from me to those around me and everyone around me will know of your grace. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
