Do not choose to be wrong, for the sake of being different

"Do not choose to be wrong, for the sake of being different."
- Lord Samuel

“And if it seem evil or undesirable unto you to serve Jehovah,
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.”
Joshua 24:14-15

It pleases me, Lord, to serve you.
I would always choose the right actions.
Give me here for the insight, strength and courage.

  1. Some people would prefer to belong to one of the groups around them. They want to choose to walk along with the others. They would then wear the same clothing or identifying marks. Other resist against certain common practice and they prefer that that they stand by their being different.
    In both cases we must make sure that we make the right choice in spiritual terms.
    Where do we want to belong to? By a majority, who are perhaps not really following the right track according the Word of God? Or are we also to oppose that small group who prefer to serve God in sincerity? Do we want to be completely different than the rest of the world and follow our own way in the pursuit of our own, strange or foreign ideas?
