Allerlei seksschandalen in de Katholieke Kerk haalden de afgelopen jaren de wereldpers. Ook België kreeg na Duitsland en Nederland haar portie. Volgens een rondvraag in opdracht van het Duitse weekblad ‘Focus’ blijkt een vierde van de Duitse katholieken uittreding uit de katholieke Kerk te overwegen. Ook in België hebben mensen een gelijkaardige stem laten horen. Sommigen spreken zelfs van "ontdopen" waar men zich kan bij afvragen hoe zo iets kan gebeuren. Vreemd is dat die gelovigen die niet langer praktiserend zijn en die van de Kerk vervreemd zijn zich niet al eerder hebben uitgeschreven of nog steeds de stap niet doen. In Vlaanderen valt op dat vele zogenaamd Katholieken vast willen houden aan tradities of schrik hebben dat zij dan geen degelijke begrafenis kunnen hebben. Spijtig genoeg zien zij niet in dat men even goed buiten die kerk een religieuze uitvaartdienst kan hebben.
Zuid-Amerika heeft de Belgische pedofiele priester op het palmares staan, maar blinkt toch uit met mooie winstcijfers voor die kerk om zo het totaal voor Noord en Zuid Amerika op 49,4% te brengen, terwijl Europa op 24,31% van de gelovige Katholieke mag bogen.
Roergangers vind men ook nog steeds ook al lijkt het in de geïndustrialiseerde landen echt neerwaarts te gaan. Tussen 2000 en 2008 steeg het aantal bisschoppen van 4.541 tot 5.002, het aantal priesters steeg in diezelfde periode van 405.178 tot 409.166 in 2008, een stijging met 0,98%. In Afrika steeg het aantal priesters met 31,09% tot 35.600, in Europa daalde hun aantal met 7,5% tot 193.000 priesters.

To be able to share in the victory that Jesus brought for us we must have our 'old man', that in Adam is, being killed and become an entire 'new man' in Christ.
Jezus describes this as 'rebirth', for no other image will in state to describe sufficiently this radical renewal . And that rebirth is something that we our selfs shall have to bring till position. In such a way we may count for it on Christ' help: we our self are the only ones that can take this decision, and take action to fulfil it. From now on our fight against the sin is against the temptation back now to turn till our old man. Only when we persevere the victory has been promised, because the sin is robbed of its power. And then is there also no power in the world, of whichever nature, that would be able to separate us of Christ, and for which we thus yet would have to need fear.

Man made life
Scientists announced a bold step Wednesday night on the Belgian television in the enduring quest to create artificial life. They've produced a living cell powered by manmade DNA.
The DNA from a cell was synthetically replicated, inserted into a cousin cell and was able to reproduce. You then can wonder how much it really was "synthetic" and would this have implicated a lifeless cell. And would this then really be an artificial life form.
"The inventors call it the world's first synthetic cell, although this initial step is more a re-creation of existing life — changing one simple type of bacterium into another — than a built-from-scratch kind."
"It's partially synthetic, some said, because Venter's team had to stick the manmade genetic code inside a living cell from a related species. That cell was more than just a container; it also contained its own cytoplasm — the liquid part."
The magazine the Economist goes on to arrogantly state:
"It is now possible to conceive of a world in which new bacteria (and eventually, new animals and plants) are designed on a computer and then grown to order."
"That ability would prove mankind’s mastery over nature in a way more profound than even the detonation of the first atomic bomb..."
"It will be a while, yet, before lifeforms are routinely designed on a laptop. But this will come."

How is it that Christ pleased God so perfectly?
Why was God so happy with His son?
It is because Jesus was the ultimate example of the faith God calls us to in Hebrews 11. Jesus’ faith in God was so strong that he was willing to give over his entire life in complete trust to his Father. Jesus states,
“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life.” (John 10:17)
Jesus understood what it meant to have complete faith in God. As a result he spent his life sacrificing his own will to the will of his father.
Most crucially, Jesus had faith enough to submit to God’s command that he give up his life on the cross. Jesus had the faith to believe God could raise him up again from the dead and that God would reward him for his faithfulness. He said,
“I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” (Acts 2: 25 – 28, quoting Psalm 16:8-11)
God calls us to follow Jesus’ example. The Bible tells us,
Be imitators of God therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5:1-2)
Therefore I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)
In order to please God, we need to sacrifice our own lives to God just as Christ did. And how do we live our lives as a sacrifice like Christ did for us?
We need to sacrifice our own will to the will of God. We need to stop thinking of what is best for us and think instead of fulfilling God’s larger purpose with the Earth. Jesus’ faithful life of service and willing crucifixion are the perfect living examples of the faith God is calling us to have. It isn’t until we give ourselves fully to God, rather than our own selfish desires, that we will begin to understand what it is God wants from us.
But it wasn’t just in Jesus’ death on the piece of wood that he sacrificed his life to God. Jesus’ entire life was an act of sacrifice. He spent his days caring for others and teaching them God’s word. He put the needs of everyone else above his own. His entire life was an act of faith in God as he exchanged his own will and desires for those of his Father.
