Gospel of Thomas and Nature of Jesus

Jesus  Christ his original name was Jeshua ben Joseph. He was born in a Essene family and as such as a devout Jew he only worshipped the Only One True God of Israel, the God of Abraham Who is a singular eternal Spirit Being no man can see.

Throughout the times we can see Jews also at times came to worship several gods. At that time - Moses had to fight with that fact already and Jesus encountered it again. For Jesus it was clear that there is Only One True God, and that it was not him, but the one Who is greater than him and without Him Jesus can do nothing..

It is strange to find Jesus being aware of the plans for his future. So in the Gospel of Thomas Jesus is having a slap against Trinitarian doctrine, declaring that a doctrine of 3 gods is polytheistic if one understands that each of the gods is a separate god. Thus there is only one true God.

Jesus has always been with that One God of Israel Who is One, and not two or three.
Jesus is denouncing the idea of trinity, whether that be 3 in 1 or three separate beings. To Jesus, for whom there is only One, denounces a cluster of three gods, also known as a trinity of gods.
This teaches us that the Father is the Undivided One, the Deity he is not divided into 3 persons.
Lots of Trinitarians argue with the first phrases of John's Gospel that Jesus would be God. Though they forget there is spoken about a word and The Word, the Speaking of God. 

The 'Word" appearing in flesh does not mean that Jesus was part of the trinity or an angel in heaven before he was born. First of all taht word becoming in the flesh gives us to understand taht what God spoke in the Garden of Edne had become a reality. For the apostle John it was very clear that his master teacher Jeshua (Jesus Christ) was that promised one who would break the curse of death.
Secondly, “to appear” means to look at behold, to allow one’s self to be seen, Jesus was in the world but the world did not know him until he made his appearance on the world stage, when he was about 30 years old.
 
It was the word that became flesh when Jesus says 

"I appeared in the flesh"

The Logos or word, which is identical with Theos or Deity, now Theos was the Logos, that is Deity and was the word having become flesh. This is Deity manifested in flesh. Jesus came from the seed of David according to the flesh that is in the sameness of sinful flesh but being the son of God his character was clean so he was without sin (that is transgression of God's law) but we may not forget he had the sinful nature and as such could be tempted and could sin. (Remember also that God can not be tempted and can not sin.)

From the Messianic Writings we come to know that it is in the sinless man of flesh and blood, who did not do his own will, but managed always to do God His Will that God condemned sin in the flesh when Jesus was made sin for us, for it was in the flesh of Jesus that God condemned sin in the flesh and killed the one who has the power of death that is the devil which is our own desires and when desire has conceived it gives birth to sin and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

In the Gospel of Thomas it is said

(101) Jesus said, "Whoever does not hate his father and his mother as I do cannot become a disciple to Me. And whoever does [not] love his father and his mother as I do cannot become a [disciple] to Me. For My mother [gave me falsehood], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life."
For My birth mother [gave me death], but [My] true [Mother] gave me life."

Jesus birth mother (Miryam/Miriam/Mary/Maria) could only give him death or falsehood which we understand to be sin in the flesh. But his true mother give him life and as such the promised one by God, came into being only some 2 millennia ago (and not earlier). 


According to this physical law, the Seed of the woman spoken about in the Garden of Eden,  was born into the world from a woman of flesh and blood who also had a sinful nature. The nature of Mary was as unclean as that of other women; and therefore could give birth only to "a body" like her own, though especially "prepared of God" (Heb. 10:5).
Had Mary's nature been immaculate, as some claim, an immaculate body would have been born of her; which, therefore, would not have answered the purpose of God; which was to condemn sin in the flesh; a thing that could not have been accomplished, if there were no sin there.

This view of sin in the flesh is enlightening in the things concerning Jesus. The apostle says,

 "God made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin" (2 Cor. 5:21);

and this he explains in another place by saying, that

 "He sent his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh" (Rom. 8:3)

 in the offering of his body once (Heb. 10:10,12,14).

Far too many people forget that Jesus is the sent one from God who came to declare God and showing the world that he is the Way to God.

In case Jesus would not have the nature of man or when he would be God, we would not have anything of the then fraudulent actions, like his so called death, because God can not die. Then we would also have nothing with his so called resurrection, because when Jesus would be God than we still have no proof that man can step out of the dead.

Sin could also not have been condemned in the body of Jesus, if it had not existed there. Therefore Jesus had not to be God, but had to be a man of flesh and blood, able to sin and able to fail as well able to have a free choice to do as he wanted to do or to follow (and putting his own will aside) his heavenly Father, the Only One true God.

Jesus his body was as unclean as the bodies of those for whom he died; for he was born of a woman, and "not one" can bring a clean body out of a defiled body; for "that", says Jesus himself,

 "which is born of the flesh is flesh" (John 3:6).

Ware Christenen of volgers van de ware Christus Jezus of volgers van Jeshua #3 Volgers van de ware Jezus

In het vorige bericht hebben wij gezien dat de aanhanger aangeeft om getrouw te willen zijn aan een persoon of aan een ideologie. Zo is de aanhanger van Jeshua of Jezus toegenegen aan die Nazareense leermeester, terwijl een Calvinist aangeeft te houden aan de leerstellingen van Calvijn.

Het aanhangen van iets of iemand gaat over een vertrouwelijk omgaan met dat iets of iemand en duidt eveneens op een broederlijkheid tussen die aanhangers onderling.

Zo is een Jeshuaist bijvoorbeeld iemand die zich als aanhanger van Jezus zijn persoon en leer broederlijk wil opstellen met Jeshua of Jezus en met gelijkgezinden.
anderen mogen dan zulk een aanhang als affectueus, prevenant, cordiaal, maar ook als dweepziek, malloterig aan zien.

Zeker gaat het  met zulk een aanhang om genegenheid voor een persoon of iets, waarbij men zijn genegenheid.toegenegenheid, gezindheid,wil kenbaar maken.

Personen of zaken die de uitgang -ist of aan krijgen zoals Jeshuaist en Jesjoeaan duiden ook op het gevolg van die persoon of ook wel eens op een stroming, zoal men bij een Marxist aan een navolger van Marx kan denken maar onlosmakelijk ook aan het Marxisme denkt of de politieke stroming waarbij de leer van Marx gevolgd wordt. Zo ook bij een Jeshuaist kijkt men naar iemand die zich als volger van Jeshua of de ware Jezus Christus beschouwd. Hierbij zijn al die ware volgers van de ware Jezus of de Joods-Nazareense leermeester Jeshua Jeshuaisten of Jesjoeanen (voor de Nederlanders die de schrijfwijze Jesjoea boven Jeshua verkiezen) in Nederland ook wel Jesjoeaansen genoemd.

Waar wij een naam vinden die eindigt op "-ist" kijken wij naar iemand die iemand of iets opvolgt of navolgt. Zo verwacht men dat een Leninist de leer van Lenin volgt of ook getrouw aan Lenin wil zijn.
Zo ook betreft het een Jeshuaist. Die persoon getuigt trouw te zijn aan Jeshua, de Joodse leermeester wiens naam verbasterd is geworden tot Jezus (Heil Zeus) in de 4de eeuw. die volgelingen van Jeshua gaan echter niet akkoord met de naamswissel noch met de persoonswissel van die Jezus. Voor hen staat het als een paal boven water dat Jezus of Jesus de man van vlees en bloed is die in de bijbel wordt omschreven als de "zoon van God".  Jeshuaisten verkiezen ook de werkelijke naam van die Joodse rabbijn boven de verbasterde vorm, omdat de meeste mensen als zij die naam Jezus horen denken, dat de persoon een godheid bedoelt. Maar voor Jeshuaisten is het duidelijk dat wij het Woord van God moeten aan nemen en Die God, die geen leugens vertelt, zegt zelf over die Jezus dat hij zijn eniggeboren geliefde zoon is. Jeshuaisten nemen Jeshua dan ook aan als zoon van God en neit als een god de zoon of een onderdeel van de drie-eenheid.

Door zich eerder Jeshuaist dan Christen te noemen nemen de volgers of aanhangers van Jeshua als volgers van de ware Jezus een duidelijk standpunt in en distantiëren zij zich eerder van christenen die de Heilige Drievuldigheid aanbidden.
Zo hoeft er geen verwarring te bestaan tussen hun benaming en wat zij geloven. Als men zich Christen noemt kan men behoren tot diegenen die de Drie-Eenheid aanbidden of bij de kleinere groepen die de Drie-Eenheid niet aan nemen. Maar vele christenen zullen dan bijvoorbeeld zeggen dat diegenen die niet in de Drie-eenheid geloven of Jezus niet als God willen aan nemen geen christenen zijn. Zo vinden meerderen dat Getuigen van Jehovah, Christadelphians, Nazarener Vrienden of Kerk van God leden geen christenen zijn omdat zij Jezus niet als godheid aanbidden. Toch zouden zij moeten beseffen dat zij veel meer christen zijn dan die trinitarische christenen omdat zij zich én aan de leer van Christus houden én de persoonlijkheid Christus Jezus ten volle naar warde schatte, terwijl trinitarische Christenen veelal denken dat een mens niet kan doen wat Jezus heeft gedaan en daarom wel God moet zijn.

Natuurlijk beseffen wij dat er heel wat mensen zijn die zich voor de gemakkelijkheid maar christen noemen en niet zo vlug de bepaalde strekking aangeven waartoe zij behoren. Zo denken zij elke discussie uit te sluiten en hoeven zij geen uitleg te geven aan diegenen met wie zij in gesprek zijn en dan zelf maar moet invullen wat dat christen zijn mag inhouden.

Zij die zich uitgeven als Jeshuaist maken duidelijk dat zij Jeshua volgen en als aanhangers van de leer van Jeshua door het leven willen gaan. En die leer gaat niet over het aanbidden van de Drie-eenheid maar over het aanbidden van de Enige Ware God, Jehovah en over het uitkijken naar het Koninkrijk van God.

Indien u een christen bent moet u zelf eens na gaan welke leer u wil aanhangen en hoe u zich wil kenbaar maken aan anderen. Wil u vaag blijven of wil u eerder te kennen geven dat u een Gereformeerde bent, of een Katholiek of een Lutheraan?

Als u niet in de Drie-eenheid gelooft maar wel vindt dat Jezus Christus de gezondene van God is die als zoon van de mensen (mensenzoon) ook zoon van God is en ons van de straf der zonde heeft bevrijd door zijn zoenoffer met God, moet u eens na gaan of u zich niet eerder als een volger van die Jezus of aanhanger van Jeshua wil aangeven en zich aldus Jeshuaist zou noemen.

Wij geven wel toe dat als aanhanger van Jeshua of volger van Jezus men nog tot zeer verschillende kerkgemeenschappen kan behoren, maar in ieder geval kan men met die ene verduidelijking in meerdere gevallen een gespreksonderwerp op gang brengen om dan uw eigen kerkgemeenschap in het licht te stellen.

Zo kunnen leden van de Restored Church, Nzarene Friends, Church of God, Bible Students, Berean Bible Students, Dawn Christadelphians, Amended Christadelphians, Central Christadelphians, Carelinks leden allemaal Jeshuaisten zijn, maar zijn ze daarom nog geen Conservatieve of Progressieve Christadelphian of Broeder in Christus, noch Jood, noch lid van bijvoorbeeld de groepering die zich "Kerk van God" noemt of ook geen lid van de Getuigen van Jehovah alhoewel zij ook getuigen voor Jehovah (een groot verschil).

Wanneer u een ware volger van Jezus wil zijn #6 Volgers van de ware Jezus zijn volgers van Jeshua of Jeshuaisten

De naar God zoekende mensen moeten weten dat in de Christenheid voor hen een voorziening ligt. Men moet niet overstappen naar de islam om de Enige Ware God te dienen.

In het begin van de huidige jaartelling was er een Joodse leermeester die veel aandacht trok en die meerdere leerlingen en volgelingen rond zich kreeg. Zijn naam Jeshua (God is mijn redder) of Joshua werd later verbasterd tot Jezus (Issou of Heil Zeus) om in het kader te passen van de Grieks-Romeinse traditie met het meer godensysteem, waarbij Jeshua als Jezus dan ook een onderdeel werd van een driehoofdige godheid welke de Drievuldigheid of Drie-eenheid werd genoemd.

Voor Joden en islamieten die Jezus willen erkennen als de messias is het dikwijls niet gewenst om zich als christen uit te geven, omdat bij die benaming de meeste mensen aannemen dat er gelooft wordt in die Drie-eenheid, wat voor hen een valse godheid is, mits er maar één Ware God is.

Nochtans beseffen zij dat in Jeshua of Jezus ook voor hen redding ligt.
Jeshua of Yeshua komt van het Hebreeuwse werkwoord ‘yasha’ waarvan de betekenis is: verlossen, redden, bevrijden, uithelpen. Aldus zijn ook meerdere mensen (joden en niet-joden) bewust geworden dat in Jeshua of Jezus van Nazareth de man te vinden is die heil zal komen te brengen of zal ‘zalig maken’. 

Diegenen die die bijzondere leermeester uit Nazareth als hun leermeester willen volgen kunnen dan ook vernoemd worden met die naam van die leermeester met de uitgang "ist" of "aan" zoals wij ook bij andere  persoonlijkheden die gevolgd worden vinden. Alsook kan de stroming dan de naam van de persoon (hier Jeshua of Jejoea) vinden met de uitgang "isme" zodat wij kunnen spreken van het Jeshuaisme of Jesjoeaisme.

Het is verkeerd te denken dat een volger van de ware Jezus, namelijk met zijn werkelijke naam Jeshua, niet tot ene of gene kerkgemeenschap zou kunnen behoren.

Indien men er op aan kan dat niet-trinitariërs werkelijk alleen de God van Jeshua, namelijk Jehovah aanbidden, en werkelijk Jeshua nemen zoals hij werkelijk is en hem en zijn leerstellingen willen volgen, kunnen zij allen dan ook als "volgers van Jeshua" door gaan of "Jeshuaist" genoemd worden, in plaats van bijvoorbeeld Christen, om duidelijk te maken dat zij niet tot de hele groepering van Christenen behoren, mits zij niet in de Drie-eenheid geloven. Met zich uit te geven als Jeshuaist maken zij duidelijk dat zij de leerstellingen van Jeshua volgen en dan ook diezelfde God van Jeshua en de God van Jezus zijn discipelen aanbidden, welke Jehovah is.

Zo zou men kunnen zeggen dat een Christadelphian en Jeshuaist is, maar niet elke Jeshuaist hoeft een Christadelphian te zijn. De in Jeshua gelovende Joden zijn bijvoorbeeld Jeshuaisten maar niet alle Jeshuaisten hoeven Joods te zijn.
Het is van dezelfde orde zoals niet elke christen een lid van de Engelse kerk hoeft te zijn of lid van de Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk. Volgens meerderen mogen Christadelphians, Getuigen van Jehovah, leden van de kerk van God e.a. niet-trinitariërs zich geen christen noemen omdat zij (volgens die trinitariërs) niet in de Drie-eenheid geloven. Nochtans behoren Christadelphians, Getuigen van Jehovah, Nazareense Vrienden en andere niet-trinitariërs tot de christenheid en daarmee ook tot het Christendom en kunnen zij zich als volgers van Christus Jezus ook christen noemen. Maar vast en zeker kan niet elke christen zeggen dat hij een Broeder in Christus is.

Het christen zijn houdt in dat men Christus volgt. Ook al kan men zien dat velen die zich christen noemen helemaal niet Christus Jezus volgen en zelfs niet de God van Christus aanbidden. De meerderheid van de christenen aanbidt zelfs Jezus als hun god.
Hierbij kan men dan de vraag stellen of zij die Jezus niet aanbidden als god zich ook of niet christen mogen noemen.

Bij het Jeshuaisme staat het echter vast. Men kan geen Jeshuaist of Jesjoeaan zijn als men de leerstellingen van Jeshua of Jezus Christus niet volgt. Dat maakt dat de meerderheid van de christenen zich helemaal geen Jeshuaist kan noemen, daar dit volledig is voorbehouden aan zij die Jeshua als de zoon van God erkennen en in hem de Messias zien.

Naar de eindtijd toe gaand moeten mensen nu hun persoonlijke keuze durven kenbaar maken. Zij moeten nu naar de buitenwereld durven laten zien voor wie zij gaan. Gaan zij voor de Drie-eenheid aanbidders en verkiezen zij zich te verschuilen onder het mom van zich steeds christen te noemen, of durven zij anderen er over na te denken wat dat christen zijn inhoudt en geven zij zich ook uit als volgers van de ware Jezus, dus Jesusvolgers of Jeshuaisten (Jesjoeanen).

• Jeshua is er voor de werkelijke naam van Jezus ... wil men die al of niet erkennen?
• Jehovah is er voor de werkelijke naam van God .... wil men die erkennen?
• Als christen wil men zich differentiëren van de christenen die geloven dat Jezus God zou zijn, of wil men duidelijk maken dat men gelooft in de God van Jezus Die ook de God van Abraham is en een Geest is die geen enkele mens kan zien?

 Vandaag kan men naar de buitenwereld duidelijk maken waar men wil staan.

Van mijnentwege is dat dus zeer duidelijk:

Ik wil door gaan als een Broeder in Christus en dus een volger ben van de ware Jezus Christus of Jeshua ben Yoseph. Zodoende ben ik dan als Christadelphian ook een volger van Jezus of volger van Jeshua en dus ook een Jeshuaist.

Het Jeshuaist of volger van Jezus zijn neemt niets weg van mijn Christadelphian zijn. Integendeel geeft het eerder te kennen dat ik het belangrijker vindt om Jeshua = Jezus na te voglen dan een wereldse organisatie na te volgen.

Aan u de keuze of u zich blijvend wil uitgeven als een (trinitarische) christen of u anderen duidelijk wil maken dat u voor de ware Jezus of Jeshua kiest en zo u ook uitgeeft als Jeshuaist of "Volger van Jeshua" of "Volger van Jezus".

Door u te camoufleren en niet openlijk uit te komen voor wat soort christen u bent getuigd u van welke houding u in het geloof wenst aan te nemen.

Jezus (Jeshua) heeft duidelijk zijn volgelingen opgeroepen een duidelijk standpunt in te nemen en in hem te geloven en hem te volgen, door ook afstand te nemen van de wereld en zijn vele tradities.

Ware christenen zouden dan ook die leerstellingen van Jezus moeten navolgen en moeten durven getuigen dat zij een volgeling vna hem zijn en aldus moeten durven zeggen dat zij een Jeshuaist zijn.

Jeshuaists or Followers of Jeshua

Because there being lots of Messianics (Messianic Jews and Messianic Christians) who say they are following the Nazarene master teacher Jeshua, but having made him into their god, several Messianic Jews as well as some Christians want to separate or distance themselves from those trinitarian believers.

Jeshua-ists are believers in only One God, the God of Israel. The God about Whom Jesus came to tell and show the Way to Him. for Jeshua-ist there is no place for worshipping a three-headed god. For them there is only One True God, Who was and is the God of Abraham and Jesus.

Jeshua-ists want to honour the Nazarene Jewish rabbi and want to make his name better known. They want to let the people know that he is the Way to God and the sent one from God who gave his life as a payment for the sins of all, to redeem them from slavery of death for sin.

The majority of Jeshua-ists may have a Jewish background, but there is also a connection made with non-trinitarian Christians who follow the same master teacher and Messiah Jesus Christ..

Ken jij een Jeshua-ist

Vermoedelijk weet jij wel wie of wat een Christen is. Naast christenen die zich zo noemen vinden wij ook Messiaansen, waarvan er bij zijn die zich als Jood aanschouwen terwijl anderen zich als Christen aanschouwen. Vreemd genoeg is er bij die Messiaansen ook een stroming die de Drie-eenheid aanhoudt. Vreemd genoeg zelfs bij een groep die zich Messiaanse Joden noemt.

Bij Jeshua-isten is er geen plaats voor de drie-eenheid. Vermoedelijk is die naam Jeshua-ist vreemd. Het is een naam om de volgelingen van de Joodse Nazareen Jeshua, in het Nederlands ook Jeshoea geschreven, aan te duiden. Als volgelingen van de rebbe Jeshua houden zij er aan om werkelijk de leerstellingen van die Zoon van David na te leven.

Op de site van de Jeshua-isten kan u meer informatie vinden over deze groepering die het geloof in Jezus Christus wil verspreiden en de mensen het verschil wil aantonen tussen de algemeen Katholiek of Protestants 'Kerkeklijke' en 'Bijbelse' Christus.

Jeshua-ists and Messianics

In the world of Messianic we may find a problem that there are Messianic Jews and Messianic groups who have believers in a triune god instead of believing the God of the Jewish rebbe Jeshua, Jesus Christ, Who is the God of Israel and the God of Abraham.

Facing that problem several Jews who came to believe in Jeshua being the Messiah do not want to call themselves Messianic Jew do detest Messianics because they can be associated with trinitarian Christians. Therefore it could not be a bad idea to have an indication that they are following the real Jesus Christ, rebbe Jeshua, who worshipped only the One and Only One True God of Israel, Divine Creator of heaven and earth.

The new website Jeshua-ists wants to offer a place to show the world how one can believe in Jesus Christ the Messiah and belong to the Jewish or to the Goyim or Gentile community, but still worshipping the same God as Jeshua and forming one community under the name of Jesus and as such being united in the body of Christ.

In the Torah we do have laws which are case-based. These holy days remembering the passover in many societies the Shir HaShirim — The Song of Songs are read, where we get a magnificent expression of affection between lovers.

This period is an important want concerning the intimate relationship and unity between people and between God. the Nazarene master teacher rabbi Jeshua asked his followers to become one. They had to become one with him, Jesus Christ, but also with their fellow man and with God.

when Jesus came together with his disciples in preparation of the Passover it was to remember how God rescued us from slavery and how god had chosen Himself a People. With the instalment of the New Covenant the followers of Jesus, even when they not originally belonged to the Jewish race, became acceptable to become part of that unity which formed God's community.

For the goim or gentiles Jesus became the passover, the crossing of the sea of death, giving liberation to all people who are willing to accept Jesus as their Messiah.

Passover celebrates our redemption from slavery to freedom. That is binary. One is either a slave or one is a not a slave. There are no degrees of slavery. so how much do you still want to be slave of this world or slave of sin?

Being presented the end of slavery it is up to us to follow God's directions and to accept this given freedom or to refuse God's offering. When freedom was given to Israel in Egypt it was a new beginning and so it is also for us. It is the beginning of everything else.

Like the followers of Moses as slaves had no autonomy, no time, or even emotional energy to engage in the challenges of love, they now faced a new generation were strangely enough the people had again to be re-educated, because soon they seem to have had forgotten the wonders God did to bring them out of slavery. The Jewish slaves might have merely transferred their allegiances from Pharaoh to their God. Their relationship with God would have been the same as their relationship with Pharaoh. Different master, still slaves.

Though God does not want to see slaves.  He wants us to come freely to Him. He does not want to bind us. for Him the commandments are not the chains for the people, but the way to protect ourselves. For God those rules are also a sign of His love for His creation, giving them guidelines to make the best out of life.

God does not want to be the Dictator of the universe. Straight from the beginning He made man partner of His creation, giving them tasks to name all things and to take care of the earth. God has chosen man to be His partner.

Shir HaShirim is a magnificent expression of affection between lovers. Allegorically, the song is interpreted as a love song between God and the Jewish people.

After the laws of the altar God empowers the heroes of the Oral law to bring the Torah to life by interpreting it and applying it in the way appropriate for their particular generation. We get a story of full of drama, intrigue and adventure and God's Words is an open book showing us how God wanted to create a good relationship with man.

Shir HaShirim reminds us we are now free to love, and we are free to feel God’s love. From slavery, to freedom, to love.

Vayikra after its opening word וַיִּקְרָא, which means and He called

For the Jews this Shabbat is the last of the Four Parashiot that have special Torah readings in preparation for Pesach (Passover), which is only two short weeks away!

For Jews and Christians it should be the most important day of the year. It is the most important Day of Remembrance installed by the Most High Divine Creator.

For the Jews this Sabbat marking the first of the month (Rosh Chodesh) head of the month of Nisan, is called Shabbat HaChodesh (החודש שבת Sabbath [of the] month), and a special reading is added from Exodus 12:1–20, which details the laws of Pesach (Passover).

Nissan was made the first month of the year because it is the month in which the Jewish people were 
freed from slavery in Egypt, the house of bondage. Having such  a month of beginning the Jews once again could say to each other "Happy New Year". In addition to wishing one another a Happy New Year in the seventh month of Tishrei for Jewish people (or January 1st for those who follow the Gregorian calendar), we can wish people Happy New Year again today!

“God said to Moshe and Aharon in the Land of Egypt, ‘This month shall be for you the beginning of the months; it shall be for you the first of the months of the year.’”  (Exodus 12:1–2)

For Jews it is a new beginning but also for us Christians it should be.  We have the liberation of God's People and can find them marching to the promised land. The land which is also promised to those who are willing to be a child of God honouring only One God.
The One True God completely forbade His people from pagan worship customs and especially the practice of human sacrifice:

“You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates.  They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.”  (Deuteronomy 12:31)

Knowing that God detests human sacrifice, especially of a son or daughter at the hand of a parent, the Jewish people naturally assume that our God would never allow someone to die a substitutionary death the way animals do.
This is a significant stumbling block to receiving salvation through Jeshua the Messiah for the Jewish People.  However, the ancient prophet Isaiah revealed that long ago Elohim planned to lay all of our sins and iniquities upon the Messiah:

“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.  All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.”  (Isaiah 53:5–6)

Jeshua’s sacrifice was meant to restore fellowship with our Father upon a person seeking to draw near to Him, sincerely repenting of their sins, and accepting the sacrifice as a free gift on their behalf.
The blood of the Lamb of God (Jeshua) takes away the sins of those who believe in who he is, what he did, turn from their sin, and follow him.

Today there are still lots of Christians who do not want to accept who Jeshua really is and who made him into a god for who they bow down and of whom they make graven images to pray in front and to burn candles in front of it.

Lots of Christians do forget that God can not die and that God Himself declared that man nor death could do him a thing. But Jesus as a man of flesh and blood knew very well the danger of him exposing himself in the city of God, Jerusalem. Though Jesus knew that time had come and God wanted a turnover in history. For God it was time again to start a new beginning and to come to present the world with a New World with a New Covenant.

Jeshua, Jesus Christ, was this Kristos or Messiah long before Abraham promised to the world. Already in the garden of Eden, the Elohim promised to provide a solution for the sin of man. With Jeshua the world was given a new Adam. And this Adam had to present himself now as a spotless lamb to his heavenly Father.

It is Jeshua, who has set us free from the evil master of sin through his death and resurrection, we now have hope and have good prospects.

Een kerk naar smaak en taal

De afkeer van traditie in evangelische kerken is zo groot geworden, dat op de liturgie van een dienst anno 2013 nauwelijks gezangen te vinden zijn die er in 2003 ook al op stonden.

Nieuwer is kennelijk beter. De enige houvast die je bij zoveel verandering van de vorm hebt, is krampachtig vasthouden aan de inhoud. Om die kramp wat los te kunnen laten, kunnen evangelische kerken wel wat regressietherapie gebruiken. Ook vorm kan houvast bieden.

Meerdere vinden dat het tijd is om buiten bestaande kaders te denken. Niet dat er iets mis zou zijn met de huidige kerkdiensten volgens hen. Voor iedereen is er geestelijk voedsel op zijn of haar manier te halen.

Men zegt:

Houd je van lekker gek doen in de geest, dan heb je TRIN. Houd je van staan, klappen, dansen, dan heb je de Pinkster en evangelische gemeentes. Houd je van rust op de vroege ochtend, dan kun je vaak beter bij de traditionelere kerken terecht. Is symboliek en stilte meer jouw ding? Probeer het dan eens bij de rooms-katholieken. 

Voor velen doet het er eigenlijk niet meer toe welke denominatie het is als men zich maar amuseert.  Lol hoort er in de eerste plaats te behalen op een kerkdienst, is wat ze zeggen.

Het valt op dat de gelovigen met al de kerkschandalen nog verder van kerken zijn afgedwaald en hun geloof in die gemeenschappen hebben verloren, toch er moeilijk afstand van kunnen nemen. Er zijn zuo een ingeburgerde gewoontes en tradities waar men toch zeker geen afstand van kan nemen. (!?!)

Onze noorderburen kunnen het niet zo gek te bedenken om de kerk van het kleine kijkkastje te alten vergroten op het grote scherm in de filmzaal.
Het idee van een kerkbioscoop is niet nieuw. Stroom Amsterdam begon daar ooit. Vast niet met een pilsje en nacho’s, maar toch. Koffie na afloop.

Bij de Broeders in Christus staat al die heisa niet voorop, geen loltrapperij, maar toch lekker plezier maken. Voor ons hoeft er geen grote bedoenerij of spielerei te zijn.

Voor de Christadelphians is Geloof een te ernstige zaak om er mee te sollen en om het te gebruiken om de kassa te vullen. Want bij heren zoals Jan Zijlstra en anderen is dat wel een belangrijk element en lijkt dat voor vele hedendaagse kerkgemeenten een voorop te stellen bezigheid. Door hun non-interesse voor geldgewin zijn de Christadelphians daarom ook zulk een 'te verwaarlozen' kleine gemeenschap. Ook door dat men er niet veel mensen vindt in een bijeenkomst worden ze door velen niet aantrekkelijk gevonden of zijn er velen om zich te vertonen in zulk een kleine groep om dat ze zich dan niet kunnen wegcijferen in de massa.

In een door elkaar sprekende of roepende massa op pinkstergemeenten hun diensten valt het niet zo op wie men is, waar men staat, wat men zegt. Men kan er van alles broebelen en dat kan dan verstaan worden als 'spreken in tongen', wat anderen dan nog kunnen gaan bewonderen dat jij die gave kan hebben om zo te spreken.

In de diensten van de Christadelphians wordt er heldere taal gesproken. Wij hoeven niet 'in tongen te spreken'. elk woord dat eenieder zegt mag ook door iedereen in de gemeenschap verstaan worden. ER is geen plaats en geen tijd voor geheimdoenerij.

Sommige woorden of namen mogen wel vreemd in de oren klinken. Mits er zoveel verschillend sprekende mensen in een dienst aanwezig kunnen zijn, en iedereen wel een andere Bijbelvertaling als geliefkoosde Bijbelvertaling kan gebruiken, worden ook verscheidene Bijbelvertalingen gehanteerd en worden bij voorkeur namen en plaatsen niet vertaald, maar in de originele versie ook gebruikt.

Mits de Nazareen die geboren werd in Bethlehem, uit de maagd Maria (Miriam) kwam te wonen onder het ouderschap van Jozef en Maria uit de stam van David, een Jood was, die zich ook hield aan Joodse gebruiken, moeten wij ook bewust worden van die gebruiken waar de Meester Rabbi Jesus/Jezus/Issou/Ishi Jeshua (Yahushua) zich aan vast hield.

In vroegere Nederlandse Bijbelvertalingen stond nog Jesus, zoals in de huidige Canisius en enkele Katholieke Bijbels nog steeds, terwijl in andere de meer hedendaagse vorm Jezus. Ook al is dat niet de echte naam van die Nazareen welke de zoon van God werd genoemd en de Messias, de Christos of Christus. Jezus of Issou betekent 'Heil Zeus' en was de geadopteerde naam van de kerkleiders enkele eeuwen geleden om zo hun godsdienst te laten parallel lopen met de heidense godsdiensten van de grieken en Romeinen, zodat er een politiek, economisch en machtsevenwicht kon gevonden worden.

Ook al is die naam dus niet de echte naam van de Verlosser is het wel de meest populaire en door de meeste mensen gekend als de door de Christenen aangenomen zoon van God en de Messias. Daarom houden wij ook vast aan het gebruik van die naam, maar laten ook niet de kans voorbij gaan om hier en dar wel de juiste naam te gebruiken in de hoop dat die met de jaren ook weer meer en meer ingeburgerd zal geraken. Alsook maakt het gebruik van de originele naam het makkelijker voor iedereen die anderstalig is duidelijk in te zijne over wie er nu gesproken wordt. Zo kunnen veel verwarringen vermeden worden.

Laat de weinige aanwezigen in een geloofsgroep nooit de reden zijn om deze niet te gaan bezoeken of daar geen diensten bij te wonen.

Bij de Christadelphians zal je merken dat ook al zijn ze met weinig daar ook een gemoedelijke sfeer kan zijn, waarbij men gerust een kopje koffie of ander drankje en een koekje of gebakje zich lekker kan doen smaken.

Wees dus van harte welkom in een levende kerkgemeenschap, die al hoewel plaatselijk heel klein kan zijn, wereldwijde broeders en zusters in Christus heeft.

Not all christians are followers of a Greco-Roman culture

On Fossilized customs some Messianic Christians take all the Christians to be followers of a Greco-Roman culture of names, terms, and festivals, all adopted intact from Pagan sources, yet adapted or mixed carefully with ideas and people from the Hebrew Scriptures.

 We do agree that the majority of Christendom has gone far away from the teachings of Jeshua or Yahush(u)a, the Nazarene who is know better known as Christ Jesus, and of his Jewish beliefs and the first apostles their beliefs. There are even Christians who do not want to recognise that Jesus was a Jew.

 Though at first the Jesus movement was a restricted Jewish cult. After the death and resurrection of Christ on Pentecost many new Jews entered the community. Later were there discussions about non-Jews wanting to join the community, if they had to become Jews and have to be circumcised or not. The apostles tried to keep to the teachings of their master rabbi Jeshua (Jesus), but soon other teachers mixed the teachings of the 'new hype' with traditional teachings of other groups or philosophies. It became so bad the apostles warned their community to be careful for the false teachers. Like any new movement it had real followers and copycats.

The Natsarim were identified as the original followers of Yahusha or Jeshua at Acts 24:5, and with all those who wanted to join the Christ movement 'The Way', were persecuted, despised, and suppressed by the early Christian "church fathers", who were quite different.

 Soon there were people who did find some interesting things in those teachings, but did not like to loose the popularity of the folks. So to keep it interesting and agreeable for everyone they did not want to go against the attitudes and traditions of the people they did want to win for them. Therefore those teachers mixed together practices and beliefs of other systems and not to go against the men in power took on lots of heathen Roman and Greek teachings. They created a system of syncretism. These heresies began through the teachings of Simon Magus, and eventually became the institution known as Roman Catholicism.

With Constantine the Holy Trinity was the solution for many teachers to be able to assure their power and to create their own rich empires of a so called Christian belief. The balance of power brought several schisms, like the Eastern Orthodox Catholicism, and later the Reformation in the 16th century further fragmented the movement; but much error remained from the adherence to the early "church fathers" and their writings.

 These "church fathers" persecuted and despised the first followers of Jeshua or Yahusha, the Natsarim or the sect which was called 'The Way'. They considered the Natsarim or real followers of Christ "heretics" because they obeyed the Torah.

Throughout the ages Natsarin continued their teachings and where the witnesses came new members found truth in the Torah teachings.Disciples from the talmidim educated new teachers who continued to go out in the world to proclaim the Good News. More and more people became baptised by the different 'Christian' groups. Though the trinitarians won ground and conquered many regions, small communities tried to keep the proper teachings of the apostles clean.

When bookprinting brought the possibility to bring the Holy Scriptures in the language of the people to many, several Christians their eyes became opened when they saw what was written in those Holy books and what the Church had told them what was in Scriptures. The Church could not hide the truth any more and more people became to see and understand what was really written in the Sacred Books.

All through Europe small communities of people studying the Bible made that many movements came into existence which had their first priority to follow the teachings of the Word of God, the Holy Bible and not any more the teachings of a indoctrinating Church.

Many believers became aware what was the importance of been properly baptised and formed in the tradition of the first century Christians. Anabaptists and Baptists who worshipped only One God tried to get more people to the Word of God by witnessing all over the world. But also the Baptist movement got burdened by the American Baptist Church Unions who wanted the Trinitarian teaching their main belief. In the 80ies and 90ies of the previous century many Baptists did not want to adhere the trinitarian teachings and looked for refuge by other non-trinitarian denominations.

One of the many small groups, may be a very tiny denomination, but that does not mean they are afraid to be lost in oblivion. As brethren and sisters in Christ they keep following the teachings of the Master Rabbi Jeshua, and take the Word of God as the most important teacher of all. For them every answer can be found in the Holy Scripture and it is God who pulls people into His World. Under the guidance of the teachings of Christ and in the faith that God accepted the ransom of this Nazarene man, the Christadelphians love Jesus, love their family and love their neighbours, believing or not believing people, respecting them as part of God His Creation.

Having celebrated the death of Christ, those brethren in Christ want to share with others the Good News of the Kingdom of God and look forward with other people all over the world to the return of the resurrected son of God.

We advise you to take up the Bible and read the words of it like they come to you, stripped from all the denominational and doctrinal teachings, remembering that God wanted everybody to hear and understand His Word. He did not create a difficult Zigzaw puzzle too difficult for uneducated people to decipher. No Gods Word is simple and can be understood by every one, when they are willing to open their ears and eyes.

Dare to start the quest and find others who are wiling to study the Bible with you.

In a Christadelphian community you may perhaps not find loads of people, no mega churches, no exuberant pop-songs or loud sounding modern music and pin-up girls dancing around.
In the small communities you might find loving people who are concerned about others and who are prepared to jump in for somebody else. The good works we do are not installed in media adverts or made known with a loud voice. The actions we undertake do not instantly produce large crowds, but the effect we might hope, shall lasts longer and in the end there will be coming more people. But naturally everything begins small. We are like a mustard seed, which you are able to plant in your own garden.

In our churches you probably would not see many miracles happening. But you might hear particular stories  and also hear about miracles. Miracles done all the time lose their drawing power. Do know that love done all the time increases its drawing power.

We do hope you shall come to find out that the Brethren in Christ, or Christadelphians are people who do love the truth of the Bible and feel blessed by the blessing of God which they want to share with others in love. The Christadelphian community is not concerned about figures, quantity, and  the ego, but about quality and care about others.
